KyokushinBARRA is on a distinguished road

Many of us have unfortunately already seen this kind of behaviour at Brown and black belt examination. Personally I saw it three times. And I did not understand why the grading committee gave a black belt to a guy who cries at the second round and then serves only to punching-ball. This is an injustice not only in relation to those who have "suffered" with a lot of courage to earn their Dan, but especially in relation to the very essence of Kyokushin. The overrun, the progression ... Personally, I am very hard with these "cheats" that I do, incidentally, never as part of the "Kyokushin's family"
The worst is that some instructors that I take as example agree these promotions, they lost a bit of their lustre. It's a shame.
When I spent my nidan, I wanted it to be respectable, respected and indisputable.
Despite my excellent physical condition and a very good training, it took almost a month for me to recover. My best memory for grading: An intransigent grading committee chaired by a former uchi deshi who spend one year in the honbu with Sosaļ Oyama, 6 hours of examination, 30 fights with determinated international competitors and the real pleasure of having honnoured the kyokushin way.
My students knows it. It takes at least 70% in the written test and 100% in kumite. They are motivated and supported by the most senior to take as an example. All grow in this spirit.

For me the door is open to those who want to come and invest in Kyokushin, it is also open for those that "kyokushin" does not. As instructor must be given the pace, showing educate without compromise. This is not always an easy choice because dojos are expensive then we can't afford to have only few students. It's a problem. With hindsight, I do not regret this choice. when I 've open a new dojo, in 1993, there were 35 enrolled in September, 15 remained in December and we end up this year to ten. In 1998 and 1999 I train every week with Shihan Corhay,... I've applied the same level in my dojo,... we stayed at 3 : me and my two assistants today, soon black belt. I've lost money but I am rich in these two valiant karatekas. Today they serve as examples to new ones. The reputation of a club eventually attract more students. And training earn quality.

A kyokushin black belt must always be an example.
The Kyokushin way may be respected.

We must not accept that those who are not ready bear such a symbol. A black belt is not inevitable, it is a promotion which must reflect great values.
This is not an end but a cap on which only begins to raise his consciousness in search of perfection.

when we chose to do something, it must be done the best we can.
not half. Kyokushin or (other major martial arts) is not a self-service or one chosen between kumite and kata between cardio training and stretching, and so on.
