I thought it would be fun to vote for the Forum Member Of The Year & I have started a short list of possible nominees...

As I compiled this list on my own & I have not been there all year, maybe some forum members are not given justice, this is without malice from me.
If you think it is the case, please feel free to call my attention to members that ought to be nominated, I intentionally left 4 spots available to this effect (a poll has a maximum of 10 choices).

Fred
(you can vote for several names)

Wow Fred, great idea but a tough one to vote on. I'll have to give it some more thought as there are several names up there I could vote for.

great idea......but I'm missing our Ubermod VAPOR.
As he travels around the globe, being a well respected K4L representative, I believe that his name should be in the list.

Sure, how inconsiderate of me! :o (Fred trying to kick his left shin with his right one... not easy!)
Would one of our adored mods please correct my abject omission?
Thanks you!

I know it is tough --- so I set up the poll to allow multiple votes: you can chose more than one! :)
Isn't that great?

Thanks Fred for including me. I think Dent has a far greater influence and he got my vote.

Osu!

I voted for Gary and Dent.

Both contribute to the forum frequently. Both have extensive practical experience and a willingness to share it with the rest of us. Despite all they've accomplished in their martial arts careers neither take themselves too seriously, and they are able to laugh at themselves easily. And speaking of that, they make me laugh pretty much every day.

Cheers to both of you, and my sincere thanks for making such great contributions to the forum.

There are many people... I'd have to run it like the Oscars. For high-quality posts the award goes to... For the most entertaining... the best InRealLife rep... for the best arbitrator... :-)

For the most influential, I am going to go with Gary Sensei. I sit up straight when I read his posts. :-)

For resident ambassador of good will, I am going with Dent.

Since I was able to vote for multiple individuals, I voted for the following:

1. Gary Sensei - insightful, humorous, and sometimes cheeky
2. Dent Sensei - just, considerate, and inviting
3. Kakatootoshi - old school and undisputed video master

Osu!

Interesting idea, FredInChina. :)

Thank you for the space up there, and all the kind words from You All as members!

I don't think there's any way to pick a single individual in this poll. Far too many of you have given me reason to find Kyokushin4Life as my home on the net. Even if we were to triple the number of names on that list, I could easily vote for 29 of them! :D

May more of us meet each other in 2010, and may our Forum go from strength to strength!

I think there should be "Member with the best lines (Gary)", "Spirit Award", "Best newcomer", and so on. I also think that the President of a country should have military experience, too so not all of my opinions are shared by everyone else ;)

I also must add I voted for Dent and it really wasn't an easy decision. Senshido has given me some great online mentorship online to me personally with not saying much (but given me much to think about). Senshido, if you read this, I wish for other people's sake on here you take a larger role on this forum publically. Dent has given me some personal and martial art advice and for whatever reason I found him to be the kind of guy I could trust. I started talking to Dent first was my only reason why I chose him.

Without a doubt that I don't think anybody could argue, Gary has the best lines of anybody on here and when I'm his age I hope I'm half as cunning ;)

OSU,

And the list goes on, and once I start I will not finish. :D This is a great poll, though myself have not been here for a long time but the hospitality from everyone was far greater than anything. The insights, opinions and ideas they give, the advice, the knowledge they have, the encouragement, ............you see, told you once I start I will not finish. I have casted my votes on almos everyone......

although it is nice to be mentioned and i thank you for that, i think there are many others that haven`t been mentioned who deserve more than me.

to be mentioned with the likes of Gary sensei/Dent sensei and the rest is indeed flattering but i cannot begin to get near their experience and knowledge.

all i can do is try and inject an honest opinion and some humour.....if it is within my power to give advise i will, however unfortunately not with the expertise of some of the above mentioned.

what is great about k4l is the willingness of vastly experienced people to help anybody who asks....and in a friendly and open manner with no ulterior motive.

i have made some very good friends and learnt a lot...where else can you meet such people?

the people i have met have been extremely friendly and fun, too many to mention everybody..but the tmd family are a great example of what`s right, the legend Gary, the champ, senshido`s warriors....

after one of them running up a bar tab at k2 of £264.00 i`ve got this vision of a serious dojo in oban with a great big bar in the corner with devilish like characters in kilts sporting black belts/gold stripes brandishing shinais and standing over the class after a session, helping to develop the drinking skills already aquired by senshido, wullie and the clan.

as usual off on a tangent!......in 2009 k4l has gone from strength to strength, fred has been a great asset and all i can see for 2010 is good things!

so thanks for the mention, i vote for eveybody who has posted something in 2009:) OSU-EN2
