View Full Version : Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee... sandman 01-28-2010, 02:52 AM Here's a really good Muhammad Ali clip I picked up from the Ross Training site. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0Skf7PujCc niceguy 01-28-2010, 10:30 AM Trash talking at it's finest! He also had the skills and firepower to back it up. "..am so mean I make medicine sick!" lol. Classic! Cheers for that Sandman.Osu! Mixmasta01 01-28-2010, 11:50 AM They played these on the Facing Ali documentary. Did you watch it yet Sandman? He is awesome and smooth as always! sandman 01-28-2010, 12:52 PM Mixmasta01 - no, I didn't see that documentary - I'll have to look for it! And Niceguy - that was my favorite quote too! :D I have to say, I've never liked trash talkers in any sport, but there's something about Ali that makes it alright. Nobody else could get away with acting the way he acted (at least in my eyes). He would talk trash but he was smooth and poetic about it. But his boxing ability - he was out of this world. Really a legend. Osu! MilkManX 01-28-2010, 06:54 PM Man he was fast! Can you imagine if he trained in knockdown... Osu-EN1 Hangtime 01-28-2010, 06:59 PM Man he was fast! Can you imagine if he trained in knockdown... Osu-EN1 ! Just thinking about him uttering the phrase "Imma baaaaaaaaad man!" (my fav Ali quote) then following it up with a shin kick...ouch! smoothsake 01-28-2010, 07:46 PM Truly a giant among men. Ali is great for not only what he did in the ring, but also for being the class act that he was outside of the ring too. Hangtime 01-28-2010, 08:05 PM Truly a giant among men. Ali is great for not only what he did in the ring, but also for being the class act that he was outside of the ring too. Absolutely. He risked a lot whilst standing up for his beliefs. OmarB 01-28-2010, 09:26 PM The dude is a god among men. One of my favorite books since childhood has been a biography of him named oddly enough "Float Like a Butterfly, Sting Like a Bee." niceguy 01-28-2010, 11:32 PM Man he was fast! Can you imagine if he trained in knockdown... Osu-EN1 Imagine him in the changing room before a knockdown. Trash talking, winding everyone up.....man that's a scary thought! Baki 01-28-2010, 11:35 PM Man is a beast ..made me wanna box when I was younger Mixmasta01 01-29-2010, 01:24 AM I posted the trailer on a thread I started for the documentary. Here it is if you haven't seen it. Facing Ali sandman 01-29-2010, 02:22 AM Dude! That looks awesome - I'm gonna have to see that one! Thanks for posting :) Baki 01-29-2010, 02:45 AM what you guys think of Maywether?? meguro 01-29-2010, 02:50 AM Ali was the pinnacle of the golden age of boxing-so many great heavy weights then. It got quiet for a bit, then along came Tyson. Ali and Tyson bookended the heavy weight division for me. sandman 01-29-2010, 02:57 AM what you guys think of Maywether?? Personally I don't like him - but he's a great boxer, I have to give him credit. I hope they can pull together a Mayweather vs Pacquiao bout... Baki 01-29-2010, 03:04 AM Hes got quite a mouth on him lol amazing boxing tho..I wonder if hes trying to have that Ali touch with the trash talking tho sandman 01-29-2010, 03:19 AM Maybe Baki, but for some reason it doesn't work as well for him as it did for Ali... ;) Baki 01-29-2010, 03:22 AM lol no it doesnt at all vapor 01-29-2010, 11:19 AM At the Citizen M Hotel, at the airport in Amsterdam, there is a HUGE ALi Book in the lobby, by the elevator. And when I say huge, it was HUGE! vapor simonallaway 01-29-2010, 11:42 AM Here's a really good Muhammad Ali clip I picked up from the Ross Training site. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0Skf7PujCc Thanks Sandman for posting that, Muhammad Ali was one of a kind, in his prime just after the Olympics, when he fought Sonny Liston (for the 1st time) and for the world title, he was literally untouchable, Sonny Liston dislocated his shoulder trying to hit him and Ali walked away after just 6 rounds (i think) unscathed and with Sonny's Belt. Truly a one in million. OSU Mixmasta01 01-29-2010, 12:01 PM I came across this watching some other videos of him. Thought it was pretty funny! Funny clip of Ali being told a story spanky11 02-01-2010, 09:20 AM awesome clip...and they also used one of my favourite bands as the backing music - The Roots! he was/is a God |
