I'm hoping Hallman loses and expect Silva to win unless the old Belfort comes to the fight. I expect Bader to win and would like to see Pham and Ludwig win their fights.

Realized I mixed this up with the tickets I have for UFC fight night in Seattle in March . Can't believe Bader fought like he did, Jones seemed to have so much more strength than him!

Silva-Belfort...
I think that Silva will win this one. I like both fighters and even if Silva is known to be one of the best fighter pound for pound in the UFC his last fights were for me not at the level of his talent. I think that Silva as something to prouve and Belfort plays his career... It should be a good fight!

LOL i saw an interview today where Vitor was saying he's sick n tired of hearing about the old and new Belfort. He says he's always been the same person and nothing's changed.:D

Well Silva didn't perform to his best ability cause he had a broken rib plus Chael was roiding so can't blame an injured guy specially with such a bad injury for mobility and power generation in martial arts puttin on that performance against a roid cheat:p

I'm guessing Silva.

Others I expect to win: Franklin, Jones (departing from what folks above thinks), and Yamamoto.

Good Lord I hope Omigawa wins and tears up his division in the UFC (unlike the first time around). :o
And Kid Yamamoto, well, I wonder if he's eaten enough humble pie yet... :D
As for Silva, I think he'll make fairly short work of Belfort. :o

Excellent fights on at 126.

I think there has to be a game revision when it comes to some of the Japanese fighters chosen. Loads of technical skill and even more heart, but there seems to be a missing ingredient right now.

And Anderson Silva? Man..... Anyone facing him has to have their defense turned up to "Whoa!"! :D

I don't think it was the best UFC card ever but the Jones/Bader and Silva/Belfort fights were good. I was disappointed by Torres and Bader's perfromance...Yes, Torres won his fight but he is such a better fighter than what he showed last night. Bader seemed like a totally different person, don't know what was going on with him compared to his past performances.

Tip my hat to Anderson Silva, my favorite MMA fighter for the last few years, he is the best well rounded fighter in MMA right now. I thought it was classy of the UFC to give Griffin and Franklin that fight with each other. They're both coming off of a long time off and needed a fight to get the ring rust out and what better opponents than each other who are both rusty as heck. To me that does show that the UFC will stand behind certain fighters and try to develop them for their careers. I have heard Dana White talk about this before and thought he was just a sleezy promoter talking out of his rear, saying that they try to develop fighters but this Griffin/Franklin fight really showed that to me.

To all the Rogan 'haters', I think he did a pretty good job commentating for this card, the only time I found something odd with him was when he was talking about Silva's mae geri, he commented that he's never seen that done in any type of martial art competition (kickboxing, karate, etc.). Oh well, nobody is perfect, I'm sure I would have made two dozen crazy mistakes to Joe's one crazy mistake if I was commentating....while seeing those ring girls so close to me humina humina humina..(don't tell my gf I just said that).

Crap, I just realized I got her a ticket for the UFC Fight Night (tito vs. nogueira) in March..I must remain strong to not stare at the ring girls too much .

I do not know if this was the best ufc I've seen, but it was much entertaining to watch. Many good fights from a good fight card. I would really wish that the UFC took a little more time between each gala and make fight cards like this more often ..

Joe Rogan, who Powerof0ne mentioned above, is doing a okay job commenting on the fighting I think. I hung up a little in what he said about the front kick to :) hehe also remember a while ago he commented that inside lowkick would not hurt anything, just the ones on the outside ..

well not to ignore that it's going to be Ultimate FrontKick Championship from now!
:D

but seriously, do you think MMA fighters will begin to work more with the kick of this kind after this?

Silva has said in post fight interviews that he learned the kick from Steven Seagal:

Interview with Seagal:

For those of you that don't know, Seagal also holds a black belt in shito ryu under Demura, I don't know what his Dan rank is...but what I find weird is how Seagal said he learned this in Japan 30-40 years ago and modified it. Someone explain to me what he modified?

Ahhh man the British Open use to be so much better back in the day when the guys from the 1st Ko use to turn up!

It was one of the main reasons I stayed in Kyokushin, seeing all these other MA styles turn up and leave on a stretcher! It made me realise why Kyokushin is labeled The Strongest Karate!

A number of MT fighters actually use a mae geri kekkomi (pushing front kick or "teep" in Thai) to not just make or maintain distance, but rather to cause damage as well. It's an easily seen strategy in Buakaw's first fight against Masato and in Kaoklai's fight against Koyasu Shingo.

That looks like Nic Pettas in the corner at 4:04. I bet he learned that kick from Steven Segal!

Later on in the fight I attempted a shuto to my opponent's ribs and another corner judge blew the whistle for an "illegal technique". I remember the ref turning to him and saying, "It's allowed!!!"
