Hi!

Can anyone tell me where can i find a recipe to a skin hardened gel or oil? I’ve seen a doc where shaolin monks and even karate-ka used a oil (or gel) that makes their skin a bit harder to prevent injury. Can anyone help me???

Well i've not heard of anything like this. Which area of skin on your body did you want to harden?

I train in makiwara (for the knuckles and shuto as well as haito uchi) and i use sand bags for the shins but i wanted quick results without bruises because i can go to work with marks in my body. (the gel was more for the arms and knuckles)

The oil or solution you refer to is called dit-da-jow
Or Yao-Gin .
It's an ointment used especially for iron hand training and stimulates
bloodstream very localy in order to speed up healing of bruises and injuries.

I've used it for about 15 years when i was training chinese boxing.
I'm currently running out of it but i found a chinese herbal shop in china town.
In the near future i'll try to find out if this shop can produce a similar solution
depending on the ingredients available to them.
It really helps a lot .
We had a cold liquid for general injuries (bruises and sprains)
and a mixture you had to warm up before application for Iron fist training.
Then there was some sort of a porridge bandage you had to apply for about a week or so if you had a finger ot toe hit by something .
We used a bag filled with a bean mixture to train our hands .
