Also, the japanese anime (animated cartoons) and manga (cartoon books) are directed at all kinds of audience. This means that there are animes targeted to kids audiences, but also animes targeted at teens, young adults and even old adults. Unlike west style animated cartoons that is almost exclusively targeted at a children audience

My favorite anime are "noir", "last exile" and "ghost in the shell". my fav anime movie is "Jin-Roh, Wolf Brigade". I like them dark, depressing, with a lot of blood and preferably without a happy ending :-)
Lately Ive been watching "History's strongest disciple Kenichi". A martial-art/comedy anime that does not take itself too seriously (although they have researched some of the karate and other martial arts moves pretty well).

I used to watch Pokemon when I was around 10... Right now, in my teenager phase, I like gore violence / sad ending love stories ( >_< ).

Yeah I always watch the newest Bleach episode. We're at 135 right now, I think. For Naruto, I used to read manga till around episode 20 in the anime version. Right now, I'm waiting for the anime to catch up.

I watch some anime but I like to read manga better.
My favorite manga is a very clever book called deathnote.
I strongly recomend reading it.

Princess Mononoko...

Umm I'm not sure it's relevent, but there's a new anime called Mononoke... It's a bout a medicine seller (and spirits? Sorry there are only two episodes out at the moment). Look for Shinsen-Subs, they do the fansub.

As for princes mononoke, It is a great anime. It's from studio gibli which is one of if not the most famous anime producers.
Another interesting movie from them is How's moving castle.
Watch everything from that company. Some of it is weird like my neighbor totoro. but a lot of it is famous like spirited away.

Our whole family is a fan group of Studio Ghibli/Hayao and Goro Miyazaki. In fact, even some of our friends have joined the group. :) Somehow we have not come across any other anime that looked interesting to us.
