reading about the good publicity on the internet made me start thinking about the media exposure in the past, the best i can ever remember in the uk was soai`s visit to wembley which apart from the "open" incorporated great britain kyokushinkai[bkk] v united states.
one of the bkk fighters who trained with us in croydon got absolutley creamed by a ushiro mawashi and this was shown at the start of an itv progamme called world of sport every saturday...everybody gets their 15 minutes of fame!...our guy was [sorry no names?], i think the "offending" american was willie williams, perhaps somebody out there with a better memory than me will be able to correct me !
this was quite a big exposure by by itv showing the fights,we all thought this was the future and then interest faded as quickly as it arrived..that is why it is so heartening to see the good publicity on the internet, especially via this site which is a breath of fresh air, respecting all karateka....
i always considered the political brainwashing of the past was purely financial, this site proves that everybody has something to offer which has to be good for the future of the knockdown karate we all love!
