What is your asking price? And can you tell when it was printed? (year and the edition number)

i got it for $100 so i'll sell it for a hundred ($120 Australian, i had to pay $20 for postage so i'll take that on to the final cost so i can post it).

i'll provide pics and info tomorrow. i have to get some sd card reader or something like that.

thats 73 Euro + postage or 115 US Dollar...

Thats not a bad price for a 1973 Revised edition...

Does it have a slipcase or only a dust jacket ?

comes with a dust cover.

the topics it covers includes (but not limited to)

* techniques
* stances
* basic technique training
* lunge techniques
* formal exercises
* the roundhouse block
* the round house inverted thrust
* special drills
* stone breaking techniques
* self defense techniques (in a variety of situations)
* and a large section (50 odd pages) or mas oyama talking about karate, its past, present, future, and spiritual meanings

keep in mind that the postage is expensive, to post to Italy for example (another person inquiring about it but didnt work out) would cost $65 australian dollars. keep in mind that this is a BIG book, so a high postage cost is expected.

Osu,

I have a 1965 edition as well as a 1974 edition. The '74 version has colour pictures in front with Bruce Anthony - he fought Andre Coloumbe in the First World Tournament as well as Takumi Higashidani.

With my first edition which I bought in 1980 and for which I paid a paltry US$2.50 (I had to work for that amount as it was lots then for a youngster) - it was a steal. I was so excited in having it that I went to stations past where I had to get oout ..:D

Mas Oyama signed that copy and many of the other books I had of him at the time (1981).

Ah Andre Sensei he would talk about that tourney everytime he visited the dojo when I was a boy.
He's one Crazy guy!!!!

I spent a week at his house a few years back, I left with blisters from doing Kanku over and over on a tennis court bare foot, 90 degree's out.

The stores I could tell

Osu, thanks - I don't know much about him other than what I've read or heard over the years. I was fortunate to meet him briefly and consider that an honour. We've exchanged the few odd mail after that.

It would be cool if you could share more about your experiences with him as he is undoubtedly one of the pioneers and seniors in Kyokushin.

It was an honour in meeting him and just a pity that I could not visit him at his dojo. The pic was taken at the '99 US Kyokushin tournament held in Maine and organised by Martin Petrovich (that time in the Matsushima group).

Did you train at the Methuen dojo of Shihan Larry Giordano?

Osu,

Yes Marty was an old student of mine...

What amazing coincidences. I met him again in Hungary for the Kyokushin Kan tournament.

Saidly Yes ........

I assume it is "sadly" (sp)? Can I also assume you are Mark Dana? I was corresponding with Giordano Shihan since the early eighties and he had me on his NEKKO organisation list as a member. I saw your name on there as well as in early magazines and newsletters. Were you at one stage also the AAU chairman for that region? If not it could have been Andy DiMarca or Dan Duffy - can't remember offhand, but those three names are familiar from that time period.

Thanks, I had a look at your site - probably saw your name on a tournament poster or something with AAU and thought that - but that is years ago and as you know, the grey matters keeps on disappearing ... ;) Nice to know you though.

Would love to meet Kancho Farrell someday as I heard much of him from the late Carlos Velez.
