Hey guys! Azuma Sensei will be coming to North Carolina on Sunday Nov. 23rd for a seminar. He will probably be bringing 2 or 3 former World/Japanese Daido Juku Champions with him. I just thought I would see who might be interested in coming. I for one am very excited!

Dear brian,
Will Azuma Jukucho be visiting other US cities/countries as well this time?

Osu! Brian, That is very interesting. Do you know where in North Carolina Jukucho Azuma will be conducting this seminar? Is it open to all ranks, styles, ages, etc.? Why is there interest in that part of the U.S.? Is he being invited by an established group or organization in that state?
Thank you for you attention. Osu!

I would like to come just to watch...just broke my pelvic bone on the 19th so won't be able to train for a while. Is Kiyatako Kato coming?

Dear powerof0ne,
His name should be "Kato Kiyotaka".

Osu!

This could be a big deal for K4L too! If several members are interested in attending, I can see a great get-together happening! :D

Details please! (Following week is Thanksgiving.)

It is my dojo that will be hosting the seminar. The seminar will be between 5-6 hours long. We are located in Lexington, NC. It is open to all ranks and styles, I wll need to ask about the ages. I am not sure what former champions he will be bringing with him. I met with a representative of Daido Juku on August 22nd. Grandmaster Azuma said that he wants to spread Daido Juku all across the US, and eventuallly have it be an olympic sport. This seminar will be for anyone. If you have any other questions, I will be glad to answer them as well as I can.

If there is enough demand, will it be okay to invite Azuma Jukucho to other US cities as well if Jukucho agrees?
The couple of New York workshops seem so successful and it may be a good idea to kindly invite Jukucho over provided that there are enough participants.

I know that he is already going to NY on the 19th of November and then coming to NC, other than that I do not know.

Dear brian,
Will Jukucho be also giving seminar in NYC? I think many members here would like to learn from such a great master.

Dear powerof0ne,
His name should be "Kato Kiyotaka".

You're right, I'm just used to hearing him just called "Kato!" in the Muay Thai circle I network in. He used to work the corner of my old coach whenever he would fight in Japan.

Absolutely with the NY information...there are enough NY members who have demonstrated a desire to associate themselves with fine training, when and where ever it is available.

I am sure that many members would jump at this opportunity.

Brian, I pm'd you with my contact information in regards to it being possible for me to come just to watch. I have no problem paying the full price of the seminar. I would gladly participate since I know I will be here(NC) during that time however I will be out of comission. Unless I gain Wolverine(x-men) like healing powers soon due to surgery on my pelvic bone recently.

I'm looking forward to at least being able to watch this seminar a lot! Living here in NC I have missed a Anderson Silva/Nogueira seminar that has happened twice just minutes from where I lived for years in WA state. I'll be damned to miss another good seminar within driving distance even if I can only watch.

Okay, I have a little more information. All ages and ranks can attend. The seminar will have a 2 1/2 to 3 hr. session in the morning and then another 2 1/2 to 3 hour session in the afternoon. Azuma Sensei said the cost would be $80 for the whole day, or $50 for a half day. If you guys have any other questions let me know and I will try to find out the answer.

Dear brian,
Is there a poster for this event? May I suggest you to also post the details about this seminar in the events finder section of the forums, in order to get more attention (and also put up the poster if there is one)?

Osu!

If you guys have any other questions let me know and I will try to find out the answer.

I've tried to get info on a possible NYC seminar around the same time. No answer back from their Hombu. Please find out if there is one happening, as many of our NY/PA/CT and even NJ members would be likely to attend.

Many thanks

Osu Sensei!

Thank you for the invite but due to the budget, it is unlikely I will be able to make it.

Thanks again for the invite.
