i am very honoured to say k4l got a mention twice in the "credits" at the british open yesterday by shihan liam as friends and supporters of the ifk.
prior to the british open i asked Hanshi Arneil if he would be kind enough to be interviewed for posting on our site....he graciously agreed.
he sat with tmd and myself for an HOUR answering questions, some of his answers made our jaws drop open!!
as you can imagine for us to get our heads around this and post is going to take a while but i can assure everybody it will be worth the wait!!
one thing i would say is....i don`t remember having met shihan liam before and i have to say the man is an absolute "gentleman" and a great ambassador for karate.......on behalf of k4l i would like to say a big OSU!!!!!!!!!!! to both of them. Osu-JP1

It's a great honour to be mentioned in such an event like "British Open", thank you for those who organized the event.
Did anyone look in the magazines they gave out :D?

The interview has been drafted and is being sent to Shihan Liam to get the IFK approval, once this is sorted out we'll get it posted up.
For me it was one of the most unique and remarkable things I have done a truly great experience.

Faaaantastic! It really works as an ad concept. The shadow-outline karateka complements nicely the "virtual dojo" concept.
Lucy, thanks for a great suggestion. have some Rep!!!:)

It did turn out quite well!
Hope that it interests some of the attendees and participants to strike up their membership!

Hopefully there will be an influx of new members, kyokushin come internet junkies :)

OSU KSAN!! i don`t see how it can.......we have offered the hand of friendship and support to them, they have returned this. in my opinion this is what k4l is all about.
perhaps we could do the same sort of thing with other organizations.
i hope to get an interview with Gary in the future, with regard to enshin, perhaps other members who might have access to heads of other organizations could do the same sort of thing?....i for one would be very interested to read them and i feel this is a "win win" situation for everybody.
this is purely about extending the hand of friendship and creating an interesting read for members......i am sure other organizations will realise this and perhaps take part in the future? OSU-EN2
Osu! Hasbeen,
I'm not very high up the Enshin food chain, so I'll do better than that. If you PM me your questions I'll discuss them with Kancho Ninomiya in Germany next weekend and write it up for the site. Hope that will interest everyone!

To be quite honest i wouldnt see any problems either (like you) but people tend to react differently to different things... and having seen and heard some pretty weird things (in the kyokushin world) i just hope that it wont get that far... the IFK is a very liberal and open organisation... but there are organisations (or even parts of certain organisations) who are less open and welcoming... i wouldnt want to see any of their members who are here getting into problems over this.
We need to keep this in mind....

Osu Gary!! i have to be honest and say i don`t know enough about Kancho Ninomiya to ask a full range of questions, perhaps with your knowledge you might be kind enough to ask him some questions on our behalf? OSU-EN2
+we hope to have the Hanshi interview posted tonight, with photo`s to follow!!
Osu! Gary,
I think it might be interesting to hear a bit about his journey through karate and how Kancho Ninomiya actually ended up where he is now. Denver seems a strange place from where to run the orginization!
Osu!
Osu! jcc
His book "My journey in Karate" tells the whole story. A very interesting read, and shows how he was way ahead of the pack. Enshin is twenty years old now and his ideas on positioning and impact are filtering through to a lot of other groups (Kyokushin and otherwise)
I'm not sure what a brief interview with him could add to be honest, so although that was my immediate thought I'll have to ponder on a few questions over the next week.
Gary
Osu! Gary,
Ok, I understand, but I imagine that quite a few here have yet to read the book, so a few lines to whet the appetite would not go amiss! :)
Anyway, IŽm sure youŽll sort it out, but maybe those with any suggestions could post them here for you to think about.
Osu!
The interview with Hanshi is about to be posted - Ksan, Can't really see it has causing any problems as we didn't ask anything we felt could be misread or misinterpreted. Enjoy.

Your missing my point. I mean we should keep in mind that there is a possibility that "support" by K4L for the IFK as was spoken about at the BO, as Hasbeen wrote about in his opening post can be concieved by other org`s as K4L being an IFK Forum.
Hanshi`s interview is besides this all (imho)
Tell me when i sound overly concerned
Sorry bud I understand now
Osu! Ksan
I think you're overly concerned. I'm Enshin but don't regard this forum as anything other than a place to enjoy communication with others. I certainly don't see it as biased to any group or even style - just to anyone who sweats.
Those that matter won't mind. Those that mind won't matter.

I share your concerns ksan this time. It would certainly be nice for all organizations to put down politics and create more opportunities for cooperation. But a prominent and public working relationships with certain groups may cause troubles with people in other groups who are more rigid with politics, and those who are under them. I agree that we should put down politics, but not totally forget its existence. Anyhow I hope these are just unnecessary worries.
By the way a million thanks to those who have taken their time to do the interview with Arneil Hanshi (and Hanshi himself)!

Nicely done. :)
I hope the other organisations wont have any problems with this...
Ksan, don't know if this will help in any way but I'm not IFK and as well as supporting the event goes my Shihan and some of our top Sensei were there, Nice guy's club had a few watching including his Sensei who I understand are IKO1, I saw some of the Wushu guys in attendance and these are just the ones I know of and exclude the different orgs the various fighters belong to.
I think so long as it is clear that we not only support and encourage good relationships between all the organizations but also that the support was for the event as it's one of the biggest tournaments in Europe and there for a valid opportunity for marketing the site etc.

i also now have no affiliation with the ifk either. i just enjoy watching people giving of their best and have no interest in what group they come from.
i agree with tmd that this is one of the biggest tournaments in europe with many different groups/styles in attendence, i thought this was a shrewd marketing ploy for our site.
