Its crap when the timing is off on those things... to close together and you have to choose, ussually resulting in less participants and possible an underrepresented tournament....

osu,

i agree with you. but i think there are many reasons here: first of all. there are a lot of groups within europe and every group thinks she has to do their tournament...
here are two tournament of wko within two days. i donīt know, why they did not talk together. maybe there are some reasons we do not know...

on the other hand, i only speak for wko, there are two focused championships this year: ec in april (4th), world cup in june (20th).
so there are less time to held tournaments before the ec. no time. i think there will be some traditional tournaments, which would be not happen depending on this schedule (f.i. danish open?).
as far as i know hungarian open on febraury 14th is the last big tournament of this group before ec.

we will go to holland.

Not much time for recovery and then training for the World Cup. This is going to be hard on anyone who does well, but suffers even a minor injury.

April and June are way to close and as a result attendances are going to suffer at one of the other which means we wont get all the best fighters together on the same day sadly.

If this happens to much it will drive the organisations appart even further, fighters will be expected to fight in their own tournaments first (not an unreasonable request imho) and can therefore not fight in other tournaments. This will hinder the cross organisation participation of tournaments....

Too right, Ksan. Some very short-term thinking by the organizers. :(

Hadi Azikhani has been around for a long time. He is with BKK/IFK now but he won the IKO 3 7th World Open in 2004. I have'nt seen him fight for a couple of years so this is a good come back for him.
