Last night, I received a phone call from one of my daughters from her friend's house. Due to the fact that it was fall, and we had just gone through the daylight savings time change, it was very dark at the usual time that she would be walking home. She asked me if it was possible to get a ride home. I had to regretfully tell her that she had no option but to walk, but if she could get to her school, which I knew was open for an event, I could meet her there and walk her the rest of the way....

Yesterday I went grocery shopping with my hubby, and one of my girls. What has become normal, and everyday to me suddenly revealed itself as unusual.

As I walked into the store, I casually dodged my hubby's attempt to poke my ribs, and blocked him, and without thinking snaked my hand around his arm to send a light palm strike to his shoulder unbalancing him.

He responded by sending a flurry of attempts at poking.. which I successfully blocked with a Mawashi uke in...
