To all Shihan, Sensei and other respectful kyokushin budoka’s,

I am proud to announce the First Open World Championships IBK Kyokushin Karate 2007 which is open to all Kyokushin Budoka.
These championships are to be held in the Netherlands on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th of November 2007 in Emmen, close to the IBK Honbu in Klazienaveen.
We chose this date carefully because we want these championships to be in the honour of Sosai Mas Oyama and it is 32 years since he organised the first World Championships Kyokushin in Japan in 1975.



The Tournament:

Date: Thursday 1 November, Friday 2 November, Saterday 3 November and Sunday 4 November

Place : Emmen, Parc Sandur Sportshall

Starts: 13.00 Hrs

Weighing: Each tournament day on 11.00 Hrs.

Weightclasses: Lightweight – 80 kg - Heavyweight + 80 kg

Rules: Kyokushin knock down rules

Participants: No maximum, participants are entering from worldwide positions

Participationfee: There is no fee

Prices: There will be very good prizes and trophies for the champion and the last 8 contenders among with a money prize for the winner of € 2500,-, € 1500,- for the second and € 500,- for third place.

Spectators: € 10,- per day, € 25,- for whole weekend (1 coach will have free entry per participating Country) Opening ceremony on Thursday will be free of entry charge.

In addition to this invitation all contestants and their teams will receive additional information in the months to come regarding the following:

· Hotel and other accommodations for all participants including coaches to stay in during the four days of the championships.
· Prices for this period of time, the IBK is working out a package deal so we can offer all contestants accomodation for a low (sponsored) price.
· The program for the complete championships, including referee meetings, official meeting, tournament draw, including a professional pool for the final day, for which the contenders will receive a personal invitation by me.
· Demonstrations

Always good. Emmen is quite far away from where i live (3 hours by car, with no traffic, we need to make arrangements over there for it) Sem Schilt will prolly be there, seeing its his home town and his shihan`s dojo is there.

Kancho Kuipers is 9 years younger, 30 kg heavier and its on his tournament
May the best man win but Kancho Kuipers has the advantage

According the IBK site Miss Oyama en sensei Suzuki are coming to the 1st World Championship as guests of honour. Is this really true ? Can anyone confirm this info ?

I've ask a friend from the IBK and she said She'll be here oct 31.

Unfortunately, the IFK HOLLAND OYAMA CUP is scheduled for November 4th 2007.
As Lucy will be fighting, we will also be present there.

By the way as Shihan Sjaak was in the hospital, I guess the Superfight is cancelled?
