We would like to but can't afford to send our fighters, thus my frustration voiced in other posts about how the women should have their way paid for at the worlds like the men do.

It is because of japanese culture. Now things are changing, but I remember times when in europe and usa we had women's tournaments and in japan was inexistent.

Unfortunately I have to agree with you. People usually aks what we, women have to do for a grade, and are surprised when I say " the same what men have to do". They just simply dont respect our belt, because we cannot be equally strong and good enough.
You know I think we do more for the same belt, and i mean it. We do grade every day, we prove it each and every training that we are hardworking enough. I hate when during sparing men pretend to be punch bags just because they dont dare to hit a woman. Pls forget that, we dont want a belt for nothing.
