Unhappy kuwait (Q8) Women + karate = ??!!??

Finally, long after the trouble was able to get women's fundamental rights in the election
But not solve all the problems of women in society's perception of the problem for these women is still negative
The implications of these negative perception of the problems and constraints faced many Kuwaiti women in particular and the Arab in general.

Women in kuwait can not work in the army or the military or in manual jobs even if the community was able to consider it with an inferiority and contempt.

What concerns me today is to talk about the Kuwaiti karate women
more than 13 years ago
I was in a local karate championship , there was a Karate girl involvement with me the same age group were also trained with me in the same dojo and by the same sensi , I was able to get to the final and play with this girl
she was able to get first place >>>>>>
although she was a young girl Disclaimer youth , although she was
The only girl in the group that did not prevent her from achieving what she want.

I am sure that Kuwaiti women have enormous capabilities and capacities of the imagination can
No man can accomplish accomplished, but society's perception of them limit their capabilities and achievements
We in Kuwait are suffering from the problem of lack of girls in various fields of sport, especially in terms of karate seen as a game for men only

I know that this problem will be resolved, but not soon What is the path of urgency in resolving this problem..??!?!?!?

Osu..!!

Thank you IFKQ80 for your reply and I visited this site more than once and I saw all divisions
in the images you'll see that there is only one picture for a girl play karate
I know that there are many girls in kuwait, but is it the same number of men?
Why not treat women equal with men

if you asked any man in Kuwait what think when he
saw girls practised karate what would be the response .????????????????

Gandhi - I think we actually have a kuwaiti woman member here - I am not certain, but I think that Tigeress might be from Kuwait, and her forum profile says that she is 2nd Dan. It would be interesting to hear her views.

Dear Gandhi,

We in the Kuwait Committee of Kyokushin Karate don't have that mentality when it comes to what you call woman in Karate and as of myself woman are welcome to train in my Dojo and they will get the same treatment and respect as any male member this is what I was thought by my instructor and this is what I'm planning to do as long as I teach and train in Karate.

If you are referring to the Male only Dojo in Kuwait then you should know that the reason behind not accepting any Female member it is because it is against the policy of the facility they are teaching in and the same goes for a female only facility. This is not just in Kuwait but worldwide.

We have the at most respect for Kuwaiti woman who want to do karate as our committee is proud of our current members and as you saw in the pictures some of them are judges in a male tournament. I don't think anyone who has disrespect for a female judge will allow himself or his student to fight in such a tournament.
I hope that I made my point clear and please take care.

IFKQ80 - Thanks for posting so clearly. It is very reassuring. I certainly had the impression that in Kuwait it was possible for women to train, and be respected as karate-ka.

Everywhere in the world, no matter how enlightened policies are, there will be individuals who do not think women belong in karate, or who should not undertake the full range of activities. (and these will be men and women from inside and outside karate) We find them in the West, I am sure that there are also a few in the Middle East and the East. Such is life. We must each just get on with it, and eventually, they will be proven wrong. It is that simple.

Again, many thanks for posting a clear reply to this issue.

Unfortunately IFKQ80 you did not understand me
I'm not talking about Committee of Kyokushin Karate
I am talking about the kuwait community and its outlook

you said : We have the at most respect for Kuwaiti woman who want to do karate
we = you , me ,Committee of Kyokushin Karate ,KKF, (community) i don't think so At least not most of them

community At least the most does not accept this kind of art for female
Example: If you tell a man that this woman play game like tennis he will accepted it
But if I told him that she play football he will find it strange
if I told him that these women do karate he wil opens his mouth and eyes graduated to the outside
Karate greatly help woman to protect themselves everywhere all the time.
However, is still society in general
Reluctant to accept this thing
Or you do not agree with my opinion ..?

Almost a year ago, i faced one of the best female Karate player (SHOTOKAN) on the Law College
After the peace i asked why she left Karate and I do not see her in the dojo

The answer was ((she got married and her husband refuses to play Karate))

I'm not talking about open minds
I am talking about the majority of society and even some intellectuals who captured him what they call custom
They refuse female to be a fighter in all Martial arts

osu gandhi !! ifq80 is saying women are welcome to train in his dojo. [i presume ifq80 is a man] i cannot comment on political attitudes of the good people of kuwait because it is against forum rules.

so if you are a women,or know a women that want`s to train go to this dojo and if you are made unwelcome post it but i am sure this will not be the case.

unfortunately if you are wanting to discuss the general attitude towards women in kuwait, i believe due to forum rules we are not able to do this.

but i do wish you luck with your training,or the person you know!!

osu..hasbeen
I'm with you and IFKQ80
Most dojo accept women gladly 100% true
But I am talking about the community and its outlook not in political
But in terms of social Such prevailing perception that karate
is for male (note that this view began shrinking)
What I want to say that women Left from her dojo
where she was welcome and happy
then faces of some members of the community who Ervodon what the
Certainly the impact of this in their determination and in other things ?

Dear gandhi,
I sympathize with you for your difficult training experiences, but as you have claimed that the inequality that you are now facing is a direct product of the general social perceptions of your countrymen, the criticisms against this phenomenon by other forum members will surely lead to (and how possibly not?) cultural, religious and political statements that will bring unhealthy consequences to the forums.

OSU!

Gandhi - thankyou for being understanding about this - the forum rules help us to create this space where karateka from all backgrounds can focus on what we have in common.

I cannot begin to understand what it must be like to walk in the shoes of many of the different members of this forum - life has some very difficult challenges for all of us.

If you would like to try to contact tigeress, I would suggest that you try a private message. Even if she is not logging in frequently, some members have their PM setup so that it sends them an email when one arrives. Maybe you will be lucky!

osu!!! yes i am from kuwait and i have been practicing kyokushin for 15 years.. it is true that there isn't many kuwaiti woman who are involved in this sport. But i hope that one day there will be many woman in this path because kyokushin is truley a way of life and much more than a sport. i have recently for the past 3 years started participating in world tournaments in japan, and i never think of stoppin my friends and family specially my sensei are very very supportive of me and that keeps me going although i've been the only female for many years , training with men , that never stopped me in fact it made me want to prove myself even more! recently i started a woman's class and hope for that to be successful.
if anybody has any questions please feel free to ask..
