I just get the ordinary Isami Gi and get the sleeves shortened to a length I am comfortable with.

speaking of shortening sleeves...

how short is too short? I've seen variations in Kyokushin to full length sleeves to almost cut off at the upper arm/shoulder.

What do you guys think is the most appropriate looking length?

From my understanding the sleeves should not higher then one inch below the elbow.

The only Kyokushin fighter that I remember with sleeves as short as touching the elbow was fighting in one of the Seidokaikan Karate World Cups. I forgot his name but he was knockouted by Sam Greco. I gather that the short sleeves were made to adapt to the Seido rules.

osu,

you can get an isami gi without sleeves and kyokushin kanji. donīt know the type of gi (maybe k-350). itīs seidokan-style.

normally the sleeves are at the length like bloke wrote above.

i for myself shortend the sleeves nearby t-shirt style... , cause i donīt like it, when the gi hits the elbow...

Iwaks, I am quite sure that you would be able to.
I know that they did mine while I was waiting in their store. Sending them an email and asking if they would do it would be, I think the sure way to know.

but are there any restrictions in tournaments against the sleeves being too short? I don't quite recall, cause often times, you would see some fighters roll their sleeves up quite high. but if the sleeves are cut off above the elbow, is that "legal"?

It really depends on the organisation - some groups will have rules that say that the sleeves should come to midway down the forearm and others will allow them to be above the elbow.

At the IKO-1 All America Tourney last summer in NY, Matsui Kancho made all participants roll down their sleeves...I mean, matches were halted until this was done, and verified.

So, don't know about other organizations, but that was an eye opener (because I too don't particularly like the long sleeves on my gi)

Thanks for the info, I will contact the Global shop and see if they can do lettering. Interesting about the sleeve length, wonder what's behind that.
