Isami Kyokushin Tracksuit
Osu,
I'm in the market for a new tracksuit: - I was considering buying the Isami Kyokushin tracksuit from Chokesports, does anyone on this forum have one and if they do what is it like? Kyokushin Tracksuit

WOW nice but too espensive. We buy Nike, Adidas, etc, and we add the kanji, looks great and half price.

I have this tracksuit and I love it. I bought it while in Japan at the Isami store. The pants are convertible to shorts, and it really is a high quality tracksuit. It has the Kyokushin kanji on the zippers and it reads "Kyokushinkai" throughout. A very nice piece of apparel.

Thanks smoothsake, whats the inside of the tracksuit like? Ive heard its a mesh liner, so I guess this means its not really a very warm tracksuit? And could the jacket be worn on its own?

Yes, it is a mesh and the jacket can be worn by itself (actually I wear the jacket alone quite frequently). It's an excellent buy - albeit a little expensive.

One more question, whats the thickness of the jacket like? I dont really like the thin, almost rain coat style, so if this is a bit thicker similar to Adidas / Canterbury tracksuits I might take the plunge and go with the Isami

Osu!
Looks really good, but the price! Ouch. I think I'd rather be kicked in the thigh than the wallet. ![]() Osu!

It is to expensive to my budget, like anything from Japan.

It is thinner than Adidas but it is of good quality, not thin to the point where you wonder where the money went. I'm very happy with the purchase.

I bought this track suit at the last WT. They were on sale at the event at a slightly reduced price. The Japanese team used them as their official uniforms with the word Japan silk screened on the back upper panel.
I really like mine. I wear the pants all the time at they gym and the jacket for just getting around. it is very light weight, so only for good weather. Quality seems good so far. The pants are long if you are a typical westerner and need a large jacket. I am 6'1" and bought the 2XL so that the jacket sleeves were long enough and I find the pants a little too long. They have a velcro adjustment at the bottom though which helps. |

Osu Deaken, I found the same thing with my Isami K-500 dogi opting for Size 5 pants and a Size 4L Jacket.
Anyway, I've ordered a tracksuit, and after carefully cross checking the measurements supplied on the Isami site with one of my own tracksuits I hope I have the correct size. Hopefully it arrives this week.

Here it is people,
Pretty happy with it, as pointed out by smoothsake it's thinner than most tracksuits, but not too thin to the point where you wonder where you're money's gone, it's also extreemly light. ![]() ![]() ![]() Also got this which is really good quality and nice and thick: ![]()

Nice pics. My sensei particularly likes the zippers with the Kyokushin kanji on them. He said (albeit it will be backwards) if you laid it in ink, you could use it as a hanko (traditional Japanese stamp for official documents).
