I've seen your Dojo. My humble basement couldn't possible compare, so it would be most presumptuous to post pictures of just the basement alone. But a basement containing K4L stars, well that's worth bandwidth!

Besides, I always feel sorry for those who are forced to go to Japan, as opposed to say... Mississippi?

I have one, but I don't use it. Even with the base full, it slides on most flooring. With a very sticky mat, it rocks around. I'd say, "Save the cash."

Interesting. We were thinking of getting some for the kids classes. Are they any good for kids?

Actually, yes. That's just what I keep mine around for. It's soft enough for the kids, and to give confidence to those with a smaller frame. Good call, Aunty Ichigeki!

There is one of those bags in the gym at apartment tower up the street (that I used to be able to use---until they sold the property to a different company than the one that owns the place I live).

I could make it scoot around on its mat, with both kicks and punches...

Had to stop every 2 minutes or so, and get it centered....

Most welcome, Kyokushin Practitioner. I got mine for free, otherwise I doubt I'd own one at all.

Before we opend our own dojo, we used to rent from a Shotokan school that had wavemasters filled with water. They all ended up cracking and leaking water ever time you kicked them

The owner there also forbid us Kyokushin types from hitting them because they were more fragile than hanging bags.

We have on small one for our youg kids class and it's great, but I wouldn't use them for any adult workouts. Stick to hanging bags if you can.

I have a vision of the bags looking at the Kanji, and then running to the other side of the Dojo.

One of our dojos got a new set of bags from a very reputable manufacturer - our knockdown squad went training there one weekend and ripped two of them in half - Im sure I have a pic somewhere.

So the moral is make sure you get a good bag.
