Whereabouts of Shihan Cameron Quinn?
Osu,

Whereabouts of Shihan Cameron Quinn, does anyone know??? The 'Busy Bee' as usual, the only notice I got my hands on was his clarificatory letter on his Resignation from Kyokushin-kan of Kancho Hatsuo Royama, as follows:

Quote:
Resignation from the Kyokushin-kan by Shihan Cameron Quinn, 5th Dan

This is to let everyone in the extended Kyokushin family know that I have resigned from the Kyokushin-kan organization of Shihan Royama.

My reasons are personal, but I stress there is no negative feelings concerning ANYONE in that organization. I just found it increasingly impossible to focus my energies on working to assist the IKO Sosai and the family of Sosai achieve their goals of ensuring the future of Sosai's legacy and working towards a single, unified Kyokushin Karate organization.

This is probably the goal of so many of us. But it is my feeling that as long as there are so many separate groups working ostensibly towards this goal, it is impossible to actually make it happen. For me, the ONLY way to be proactive about doing something positive for the legacy of Sosai and contribute to Sosai’s flesh and blood is to actually work with them in the IKO Sosai.

With the blessing of Royama Shihan I was, for the last year, working as a liaison between the family of Sosai and the Kyokushin-kan group. During that time many goals were met with great success and promise. Now I am working fully for the IKO Sosai and the family of Sosai Oyama.

All of the groups have good men and women in them, striving daily to live the life of a Kyokushin warrior. But there is too much deception from those that head these organizations. Students are misled to a degree that is alarming and altogether uncharacteristic of the beautiful qualities we all believe Kyokushin Karate represents.

I urge everyone to ask themselves if they are truly honouring Sosai by being part of an organization that ignores their responsibility in this respect. Everyone pays lip service to Sosai. But action is also necessary. I am ashamed it took me so long before I realized the extent of the inconsideration from the Kyokushin Karate community faced by Sosai's family for the last 11 years.

Osu.

Cameron Quinn
Any news, anyone???

Thank you. Osu!
