Osu,

The Blogsite is very serene, so tranquil, the creation of a peaceful soul. Choice of color, Articles, Pics and things all organized and orderly. Nice links also so accesible.

BTW, very informative reading material, got caught up reading some of them. Great Blog, my compliments.

Sir Ibuki hope to see your blogsite soon, best wishes.

Osu!

Dear ibuki,
First of all I would like to congratulate on the opening of your new blog and just do not forget to check back this forum and keep posting often!
I do not quite understand what you mean by
Quote:
Kazumi Shihan is a firm Karateka but his actions are more suitable to be ADDED into one's game. They are not so useful until some principles aren't taken from other karatekas(such as Matsui, Midori, Filho and even Lechi Kurbanov).
Would you like to explain?
I think if you want to learn more about Shihan Kazumi's way of fighting in his kyokushin days, the new materials (all that after he went indepedent) may not be so suitable for you. If you are interested in his counterattack tactics in his tournaments then books and magazines (rather then instructional videos) of his kyokushin years will be more likely your cup of tea (most of them are quite graphical and there is no need to worry about the language). And I do not think the sparring of his students you see on the screen will represent the actual teaching of Shihan Kazumi (way too many reasons).
As for a comparison of the counterattack tactics between Kancho Matsui and Shihan Kazumi I prefer the later because I consider it more compact and powerful (just a personal opinion). They actually sparred against each other in an old video called "best of sparring" and you may compare the way they fight. The "jonan sibu training" videos show some of the strategy used by Kazumi (mostly about fighting rythmn and lacks his footwork system to be complete. but understanable as the video is about jonan sibu but not kazumi) and you may check them out.
I do not agree with you saying that Kazumi's game was beaten by Yamaki but these are just personal opinions. (But I will completely agree with you if you say the same thing for Kurosawa Hiroki and hope you know what I mean).

Off-topic: I like your kanji+kanku tatto on the neck which is real cool (but I will not put it in such a place where I risk being bitten :P )
And the picture you use in your blog is Shihan (Kancho to be exact)Kazumi's new book with Shihan Iwasaki (Tetsuya) but not "winning bible".

I have an old Kazumi instructional and his game isn't different there. Is called Kazumi Special Sparring techniques or sort of this. I will review it in the future.

Matsui has Kaumi's principle but he adds the attacks with some KO techniques- much more variable than the standart Kaumi ones. Also Kazumi an't counter attack from each single position that he is, while Matsui can. Anyway we oth have opinion and we express it here. My opinion is shared from my brother and Bulgaria's Daido Juku Kudo federation vicepresident

Dear ibuki,
Looking forward to your future reviews. As for the sparring of Kazumi's students I think probably some of them are young or inexperienced. And also when they shot the video they was focusing on Shihan Kazumi and his students and other things were less emphasized. If the video is about jonan stars then you will expect the sparring to be a lot more heated up and better to watch even if they are not the focus of the video as the stars have to keep up their reputations (even for cameo roles) and also they have better skills. These reasons are of course just speculations and their is no point in further analysis. What I want to say is that it is only fair to judge the acutal fighting skills of his students by watching their tournaments. In japan the fighter that people conisder to be showing "Kazumi elements" (in terms of fighting styles) is Tanaka Kentaro but even he is you know, still has a lot to catch up with. Not that I am looking for a clone or imitation, but I truly hope the unique and powerful fighting style of Shihan Kazumi can be passed on to his students.

Osu ibuki,

Like the blog, very informative.

BTW, your fonts are bigger in the article 'Important Event'. Nice Jodan Mawashi Geri or was it a turning long anyway it sure had good height.

Keep up the great blog. I will be visiting and reading often.

Osu!
