broke someones rib. amazing to think back how ignorant we all were about the human body before we started studying.
like, before you train you think its so hard to break someones arm or something but once you learn to do it the information is almost stunning. im fascinated by the dichotomy of how martial arts makes us so strong by highlighting how frail we really are. |

This didn't happen to me, but to my dad. Several years ago, when he was still practicing Shotokan, he was judging a tournament. He went to use the restroom while wearing his dogi. After a few seconds of standing at the urinal doing his business and day dreaming, he realized that he didn't hear the usual familiar splahing sounds. He looked down and saw the draw string directly in the line of fire, soaking in the urinal! The pee had traveled up the thread and soaked into his pants! He didn't have a spare, so he hiked them up as high as he could, pulled his top down as low as he could, and tried to casually walk back to his spot on the floor without anyone noticing the wet, yellow stain on his pants...He said he was pretty sure most everyone did notice...

A winter for som year ago was I going to hold a training for the juniors beginners class. Working out all day on a cold winter day with a lot of stress. I had brand new socs in my winterboots,so my feet was warm. I was late to training and change lifghting-quick to Dogi. Phu!
Basic was on the menu, and I stood explaining to to class. Hm why are they looking down I wonder...at my feet?! I then realized that my new socs had leaved a LOT of dark hair on my feet. Looking like a wild animal on my feet I understood the junior class looking down all the time hehe :-) |

We-ell, whadda ya know... Looks like my memory is just one of those that needs to be jogged a through a little pain. I thought (After a long layoff from the activity), that I'd do a little skipping today. Out came the trusty heavy duty Thai-style tubing, but I didn't put on my trainers. Nothing can quite describe the feeling of going from happy-to-be-speeding-up to OW! Stupid toes!. Osu!

A careless thing I did a couple of years back.
I see a good, big mirror in my hotel room. I think "- What a great opportunity to check on my kicking technique". Throwing a maegeri while looking sideways into the mirror, I totally fail to see the opened door in front of me, pointing straight at me. The three center toes of my left foot were quite messed up for quite a while... |
