interesting. but i couldnt stop thinking about that one line in the beginning - "former Kyokushin black belt".... maybe its just cause ive had trouble recently but i find that such an odd phrase.

Sometimes the kyokushin organisations don't agree with fighting in non kyokushin tournaments.
If so you usually arent allowed to represent kyokushin in the ring (no patches, etc) and they might even kick you out in extreme cases.
Dunno if this is the case.

oh, im aware theres political implications and whatnot, but my point was more to the concept of, if youre ever X rank is it even possible that you cease to be that? isnt the point of our training to make the martial art a part of us?

maybe im just overanalyzing it. like, WAY too much...

No shinobijesus you're not and I would find it very sad if some one as high profile and clearly a great MA like GSP is not allowed to state his provenience so as not to upset some political burk who might strike him off some register - if that happens I'm sure some Shihan here I'll honour his grade - wouldn't mind him fighting under our banner would you?

Was a good video...was a good fight, too! First time I saw his sister, I remember seeing it on the fight day thinking "damn, I want to meet his sister, now!" haha.
