Hello!! - looking for a dojo in Yokohama
Hello everybody
I just moved to Japan (Yokohama) and I will stay around for at least 3 years. I have practiced Karate Shotokan for years in France, so I am very happy to be here and to be able to improve my skill... Anyway I could not figure out how to find a dojo. I am sure they are plenty of them around. It is not easy to find them on internet as I can not read Japansese. Does someone know a shotokan or Kyokushin dojo in yokohama? cheers |

Wellcome to the forum bib.
Do you have a preference for any specific organization or is any kyokushin (or offshot like ashihara, enshin etc) or shotokan, organization acceptable? Here are directons to Shin-kyokushin (WKO) schools in Yokohama (and the rest of Kanagawa prefecture) Entire world karate road union new polar true meeting official sights - branch link Look about halfway down the page. bib > a few members from this board train around yokohama. I will be joining them soon.
Starkodama trains somewhere in Yokohama i think  . And a dojo I used to train is also in yokohama(Futamatagawa station, Sotetsu Line).Feel free to ask here I'll guanratee that i will help you out to find one, because it's my hometown.

Where in Yokohama do you live? I train Zendokai in Tsunashima and there is a (Shin)Kyokushin dojo just around the corner from there.

Here just adding some dojos of the Matsui Kancho faction (also known as IKO-1). It is better to bring a Japanese-speaking friend who knows places and can accompany you to the different dojos (you can forward this thread to a local friend who speaks Japanese). whoa!!
HI and welcome!! Sorry I'm so late to respond to this post, I was on vacation...
Anyway, I live in Yokohama and have been training Shinkyokushin here for 2 years now. =D I train at the dojo closest to Yokohama station, but our shihan has a bunch of dojos all over Yokohama.
