j-pop is one thing that I just never got into....not for the singing quality, not for the entertainment value....

Dear vapor,
I just cannot imagine that you have not rubbed off a bit of J-pop considering your more than ten years of staying in Japan, but that is your choice, just like many Japanese do not like Natto and think it tastes bad.

I think Momoe is a good singer and many of her songs have become golden hits and they will be once in a while covered by other singers. I like her a lot better then her "kohais" like Ayumi Hamasaki or Koda Kumi.

As for the cover I think many Shihans or even branch chiefs (the "Karate Baka Ichidai" generation) did spend their lunch money on it as a kid. Momoe, being the top idol to sport a Kyokushin dogi is not something that is likely to happen today. I hope there will be more Kyokushin in youth magazines or variety shows so more young people can come to know it (of course not to the extend that makes Kyokushin looks stupid).
