For those who like Oden (Kantodaki), they will be happy to know that retro Oden is now available for those who miss the way that Oden was done decades ago. And to make truly classical Oden, you must have the right ingredients, preferrably something that have stood the test of time.







I have just seen someone selling these truly unopened (mint condition)foodstuff made in the 1970's on the net and I am truly amazed.

I saw it on the auction site of yahoo japan. Actually the seller says these food are not for consumption, but for the sake of collection only.

I've got some old cheese in the back of my fridge, never thought of ebay to get rid of it,was just going to put it out for the birds. Maybe this is the way i can give up work and support myself training full time!

It would make a great box to have as a collector...I would drain out the contents....that is an explosion waiting to happen!!

There was an okonomiyaki/monjya restaurant near our house in Asakusa that was totally retro...

The tofu is not that old.
It was made in 1973 but expired in 1974 so it means less damage to health if there is any.
But still a new horizon for vintage food!

True, I brushed over the "eat within 8 month" disclaimer!!----but it does say "oishiku"...so, maybe a couple bites on that now would only be "so nani oishikuwanai"
