Question Kanji for Club Shirts
Hi guys,

So our club is getting new shirts printed up. And I have looked and looked for a kanji we need but can not find the right one. We are looking for Kyokushin Fighter in Kanji. Well the kyokushin one is easy enough I found fighting but need fighter. Any help would be great!
And lastly, I have seen a picture somewhere with the kanku then kyokushin kanji through the middle of the kanku, but again can not find this. Has anyone seen a picture like that through there web surfing by chance?

Thanks in advance

P.S. I hope I put this thread in the right place, and that is makes sense. First thread I have started!

Dear Jess N,
I guess by kanji you mean Japanese but not exclusively kanji.

My suggestion of "Kyokushin Fighter" in Japanese is:
極真戦士 (Kyokushin Senshi). This phrase sometimes also appear in news when referring to Kyokushin members in K-1 or other competitions. As a matter of fact 戦士 means "warriors".

There is no translation of "fighter" in Japanese, and the katakana "ファイター" is directly borrowed from English (and so it sounds something like "fighter" in English).
Thus the whole phrase would be 極真ファイター.

Grammatically speaking both phrases are okay. The first phrase reminds me of Gundam and Evangelion, but I think it is also more serious. You have to bear in mind that not necessarily everything when translated into Japanese will sound cool.

OSU!

Thank you!

You have a point about not everything when translated sounding good. But what you suggested serves its purpose for our shirts.
Thank you for your help!

Just be aware that the kanku is typically considered trademarked, by the different organizations (in the design that it used), so you may want to rethink using it without permission....(just a heads up)

Yeah I have heard that.
I even asked my Shihan and he said we do have permission, we have also used this particular one before. But thanks I should probably go double check with him ;-)
Thank you!

Dear Jess N,
I am glad it helps. If you want, you may later put your kanji design here for a double-check of the strokes.
