That is exactly true, and often involves very small, or seemingly insignificant changes, if it is viewed as making things better

It's a business term used heavily at Toyota. Kind of like the Lexus slogan, "Continuous pursuit of perfection."

I use the term alot with the creative agency that I work with here in NY (they are all Japanese Nationals)...I expect little tweeks and changes every time we do a campaign, so that we see measurable improvements each time!!

Well, it isn't just a commercial phrase...the phrase itself is much more than that...it means never stopping, never be satisfied with what you got. Always pursue a better way or better person. It means to never stop and say you are done in the path...it means always to keep walking one step at a time, cause there is no stop, no end to it.

I wouldn't agree with that statement...

It is a philisophy, or mindset. But I wouldn't go as far to say that it has any religious or spiritual meaning...

If you are looking to constantly improves yourself (the direct translation for the 2 kanji of kaizen mean - change/good) then that has farther reaching implications than simply working harder!
