Ewerton Teixeira in Kyokushin Karate
I recently spoke to a friend of mine from Brazil who's training a lotta guys here in my country (he currently lives here in Portugal) named Nasser (aka Guto) who trained Francisco Filho and coached him in his fight against Remy Bonjasky and who's the main coach of Team Never-Shake (wich has been sending fighters to Superleague such as Jose Reis, Florin Vintilla and Gibi). He told me that they're peparing Ewerton Teixeira to get him into K-1. From what i heard, Teixeira has been training his boxing skills for like 4 years now. Does anybody know anything about this?
I'm curious to know if they're planning to get into K-1 other famous Kyokushin fighters such as Lechi Kurbanov, Kentaro Tanaka, Sergey Phlekanov. If they do, i hope they get them first into Ishigeki against fighters such as Pettar Mastorovic, Pavel Majer, Peter Graham, Musashi, Hiraku Hori, Freddy Kemayo, Hiromi Hamada, Kenji Kusatsu, Tsuyoshi Nakasako, Shingo Koyasu, Taiei Kin, Yusuke Fujimoto, Nobu Hayashi.... They could also begin to test them against other Kyokushin Karate fighters such as Makoto Hakaishi, Igor Peplov, Yoshinori Hikeda or from other Karate styles such as Daido (Yasumishi Fujimatsu, Alexey Kononenko, Susumu Yamazaki, Kenishi Hosada, Shamal Kerimov...) or Shidokan (Tatsuya Shikano, Hajime Saito, Ryohei Takahashi, Cyril Diabate, Aurelien Duarte, Shonie Carter...) or Shinbukan Karate (Masakatsu Hokuda) Osu!!

I hope this is true, K-1 needs more Kyokushin fighters. Hopefully he'll be invited to a GP next year or maybe a superfight on the WGP finals.

I think Teixera should concentrate on next year's world tournament. After that do whatever he likes to do! osu

Osu,
Recalling the 8th World Tournament where Sensei Teixera fought Sensei Kiyama I felt that he could have dominated the match and won had he shown more in terms of delivering his kicks and punches. I am hoping in the next WT he would have more to give in his fights so that he could become the next World Champion. It has been some time since Sensei Francisco Filho Championed in the WT. BTW, Sensei Lechi Kurbanov should not forget about the time factor in his fights. His 8th World match was like a let down. He was powerful and strong, his confidence just got the better of him. World Tournament here we go...! Best wishes to all fighters. Osu! |
