Peter Graham is an excellent K1 fighter who has struggled against the Super Heavyweights. Hey who wouldn't? It may sound strange because he is a very solid man but he isnt as big as Semmy Schilt or Le Banner or Aerts.
But now some of the old guard are slowly fading into the sunset he may get more opportunities. Whose gonna stop Schilt in the K1 final I cant see anyone at the moment. Maybe Claube? Pickunov? Politics have not helped Peter Graham with the IKO1 having an exclusive agreement with the promoters of K1. Not from the IKO1 then you it is extremely difficult for Kyokushin fighers to get into K-1. It seems like some exchange deal with Seidokaikan fighters entering into IKO1 tournaments in Japan. Before everyone jumps up and down making statements about this isnt true, fair or in the spirit of kyokushin. I too think that Peter Graham has done a huge amount for K1 in Australia and Oceania and deserves a greater opportunity to fight in Japan. Osu

Hi guys, Peter Graham is not only a great competitor but also a great ambassador and inspiration for Kyokushin down under. I drove 6 young kyokushin fighters 6 hours to watch The Chief compete in a K1 in Auckland NZ, the one where he dealt to Badr Hari, who I have to admit did have a huge chip on his shoulder and an ego to match, he was the only fighter not friendly with the fans and behaved like he was right up himself. Peter Graham complete opposite, he made himself available for his fans to take photos and chat before and after the event as did Semmy Schilt and the others, Semmy is a giant of a man and I cant see anyone at the moment who is better, yes he will lose the odd battle, but on average he will come out the victor. OSU! RTR.

Right you are iceman - I really thing Badr Hari has an ego the size of a football field, but thats what you get in evens like K-1, I think its quite the opposite with those from a fighting karate background which teaches respect and honor such as Kyokushin etc.
I don't think many people were too unhappy when Badr went down. |
