8/11 HEAT in Nagoya

Noji Ryuta will fight Lloyd van Dams in the next HEAT on 8/11 in Nagoya under kickboxing rules.

Another kickboxing fight will feature Tomihira Masafumi and “Big Mo” from Fight Club Van Dams.

Sensei Noji has not been competiting in kickboxing fights for four years and he said he was interested in doing it as in MMA fights it was more difficult to pull off his striking skills.

Sensei Tomihira said he was looking forward to this event as he would be competiting in Nagoya, his home province.

For the use of a cage instead of a ring for the kickboxing fights, both commented that because of the difference in distancing, they would not know what would happened unless they actually tried. There are both uneasiness and anticipation.

It will be interesting to see the result. I have a nagging feeling that noji will lose if he has not done kickboxing seriously for so long. Van Dams is a serious opponent. And fighting in a cage will probably be a disadvantage to both him and Tomihira.
