There is a big Shootboxing facility just right down the street....less than 100ft probably from the kyokushin dojo in Asakusa!

Koji-san, as far as I know it's sort of like K-1 but allows throws for points as well I think. Shootboxing has sent fighters to k-1 max but hasn't done well except Andy Souwer.

Thanks for the info. It seems like a good thing to take up which might aid one's kyokushin. Probably not the movement part but any extra conditioning will help. OSU!

Ishikawa was injuried in training (ten stitches on the eyelid) and he is replaced by Oikawa Tomohiro (super featherweight champion). Oikawa has a gloved Karate background.

I was getting interested in Shoot boxing till I saw Suehiro sempai s fight.
Suehiro was punishing the shoot champ for all 3 rounds. But in the 2nd round the shoot boxer pulled off a superb suplex throw.
It didnt do any damage, but he was awarded 2 points for it. Suehiro threw him down a number of times with good clinching skills, but that doesn't earn points.
Aparently this is the rules of shootboxing.
2 points is huge in a kickboxing fight! So even though Suehiro was obviously out classing his opponent, he would have needed a KO to have any chance of winning.
This is the same reason I lost interest in San shou.
Points getting awarded too easily for throws make the scoring unrealistic.
Too bad. I like the concept of kickboxing with throws, but it has to have a fair points system.
