1st day at kyokushin training
Osu!

I just arrived home from my first day in training. It was a hard day for me. . .it was hard going through their usual conditioning routines (push-ups, crunches, leg raises and squats). However, our sensei and other students at the dojo made me feel at home and this made everything worth it.

I am looking forward to my next training session.

Osu!

Sounds like a good first experience. As is popular in our dojo, I felt like throwing up 75% through my first night. My senpai kept telling me to relax and breath... you should do the same if you feel tired. OSU!

My first day I got smashed up by an overzealous greenbelt and could walk properly for a week.

my first day in kyokushin (after one year of shotokan) I got beat up by almost everybody , but what bothered me the most it was that I was 17 years old and a 50 years old blue belt kicked my but hard... then I knew that one day I will be the best in that dojo...it took me over five years to achieve that...
Good Luck
Osu

1st day
I was a bouncer in a bar at the time (I believed I was really unbeatable) and I went to my 1st class it was in a garage we bow in warmed up and then The Sensei (He also was a bouncer with me at the club) said lets fight, not Kumite Just fight and it seemed like it was for hours now, but it most likely was alot shorter. It was real fighting which shocked me because it was class but I learned quick that I was not the Bad dude I thought I was. I got put in my place and I fell in love with the Martial arts over 35 years ago.

my first day i was verry shy and my sensei greeted me with a smile and said c'mon in. we warmed up and stretched and i muddled through basic kihon which seemed so verry complicated at the time. and then they taught me dojo eticate. after that i trained with the class in kicks and punches but i didnt get to spar because i didnt have and gloves or shinpads.

I was only 13 and I will never forget how sore my body was....It was in Australia and the heat was incredible - I sweated so much that I had cramps in my bed at night. As I was a tall kid my instructor placed me to spar with the adults. I got absolutely hammered and there was tears streaming down my face, after the 2nd kumite against a bully of a green belt.

I toughed it out and by the time I was 17 I was kicking around all of the adults.

In hindsight the instructor was not very knowledgeable, and should never have placed me in with the adults..but it sure did toughen me up.

I'll never forget the feeling of not being able to stand in a proper zenkutsu dachi because your hips don't naturally "square up". It was such a long time before i could get my hips to face forwards instead of forty-five degrees.

OSU!

I have had two first days,

I can't remember my first night ( I can remember feeling like a total klutz for the first few weeks) The first night was a feeling of being WAY outside my comfort zone.

After a bad injury I was forced to take a year and a half or so off, i couldn't wait to get back. The 'second' first night was a feeling of being back where i belonged.

I have yet to meet any sort of bullys in training.

I've been training for five years and I still feel like throwing up 75 percent of the time.
Kyokushin is sweat!
