crocop rules.
Too bad he is not from kyokushin (even though he has some generic karate and karate based kickboxing in his background somewhere)

Also, though Silva does have his BJJ black belt, he is more accurately described as a Muay thai fighter. He has been expert in it for much longer than he's been adept at BJJ. He only recently received his BJJ black belt and gradually achieved his accomplishment in BJJ as a function of becoming a better MMA/Vale Tudo fighter. His "passion" or first love is Muay Thai.

I stand corrected. He is always referred to in his stats as a MT fighter, but I personally don't see much of his MT come out in his fights. He is always trying to take the fight to the ground -- where I would agree he is quite impressive.

Wanderlei Silva always finished his fights with either strikes or knees. Despite he is a BJJ blackbelt, you don't really see him trying for any submission but mostly hanging in there. His fight is always excited to watch but it wasn't his night. Open weight is too much for him...

Osu,
It seems there was bad blood with both Mirko Crocop and Wand Silva. Silva was quoted as saying he would make the face of Mirko Crocop look like his shorts, and that he did not like Crocop. Similarly Crocop said he did not like Silva. Watching the fight was like, oh my God... Silva was being pounded on the ground. He could not even put up a good defense to protect his eye. The hands of Mirko Crocop just kept hitting Silva's eye... oh my God. Referee stoppage for the Doctor to check Silva's eye revealed a puffy right eye and swollen face. Continuing the match on the ground Mirko Crocop appeared dazed by Silva's strikes. Later on their feet the killer left of Mirko Crocop landed to the right side of Silva's head causing him to be knocked out. Profuse bleeding on the head and face of Silva. What happened? I could not believe in less than 6 minutes down felled Silva. What a fight...the deadly left did it again, from K-1 to Pride. Osu! |

His hidari jodan mawashi geri is deadly. CroCop is my favorte Pride fighter and I'm glad he dominated that fight.

Indeed Crocop is a superior fighter, also with experience in armed forces and parliament. Crocop is no ordinary person. Best stand up fighter in the fighting arena. Osu! |

Wand with his street-noob like hooks is no match for CroCop whos striking is imo the best in mma. Wand should definitely improve his punching, use more straights. Moreover, Wand put on weight dramatically in short time - known of his middleweight superiority, when faced CroCop he weighted much more than him! - that also didn't help Wand, I would even treat that as disadvantage.
Here you can see Wand training his hooks - no straights at all Though watching this video makes me wanna train, train and train ![]() http://video.google.pl/videoplay?doc...nspiration+mma |
