Per chance did they make an mention of where in NY would they open a Daido Juku dojo?

Kinda wish they would consider opening one somewhere where in NJ.

They hate New Jersey. Azuma told me so. (Sarcasm)

I don't think they will open a dojo to be honest. 8 people showed up to the seminar and I doubt that is enough to justify opening a whole dojo. I would be satisfied however just being able to train with a Kudo affiliate (Kudo Greenbelt).

I think you would probably get a better response for Daido Juku in New Jersey than NYC or Long Island.

But dont forget it was right before the holidays. A lot of people wrote me telling me they could not make it due to the holidays. I am sure more people would of showed up if it was on a diffrent date.

Kudo Greenbelt, when are you gonna have a class or get together to train?

Osu! Is Kudo a rough translation of mixed martial arts?
if not, what does Kudo mean?

NYC Photo and "KUDO" Meaning
Osu,

Appologize for the delay, but the Daido Juku NYC seminar group photo is up on the website: http://www.daidojuku.com/eng/index.htm

Kudo basically means "Empty Way", a martial art without borders (except in one's conscientious actions). For the full meaning go to the Daido Juku website above and click on the "What is Kudo?" link.

Let me know if you have any questions, I will do my best to answer them.

Osu,

Joseph

Osu,

There is this Excellent Video Clip of Daido Juku - "Spirit" begining with Kancho Azuma running the zigzag road then proceeding to some more clips of himself then fights of Daidojuku well sequenced and fast paced. Excellently done!

I have been trying to download this clip from the Daidojuku website several times but unsuccessfuly.

I hope a member of Daidojuku could intercede for me to the Administrator of Daidojuku Website could re-upload this great clip. I did enjoy very much this highlight very informative about the Kancho Azuma and Daidojuku. BTW this is not the clip "What is Kudo?" Also a well made video highlight.

Great work! Thank you in advance...

Osu.

How was it? Hopefully there will be another seminar next time I can get to NY.

Osu.

Too bad we can't get Daido Juku in Ireland.

Where are you in Ireland? John Bluming's Budokai has a big dojo in Dublin and they (Budokai) are closely allied with Daido Juku. They train uch in the same way (judo+kyokushin). You should definetly check it out.

Thanks rsobrien. I live in Kilkenny which is a few hours away from Dublin. I saw their website. It sounds like a great place to train. Too bad they don't have private lessons though.
