Daido Juku (Kudo) in NY

I have been emailing the Daido Juku org in Japan about starting a branch in the US. They have emailed me back and send they may send a representative on Nov.22. By NY, I assune they mean Manhattan or the surrounding area. Anyone else interested? Email them at DWHQ@daidojuku.com

Apareently a few people have been emailing them about a NY branch. Also I have been told there are some green belts still training in NY, they still haven't said where. Anyone know them?

Does anyone know someone who is training Kudo in Manhattan? They have been saying that there are members still training somewhere. I got another email saying that they would like to meet at 5:PM Nov.22 at some location yet to be determined.

Anyone have anymore info?

This is the e-mail I go from the green belt here in NYC, I too received the e-mail frm Daido-Juku and then they forwarded my e-mail to the green belt here, they also ask if I am willing to meet wih them at there hotel when they get to NYC.

This is he e-mail sent to me by the green belt, and I put his e-mail on the botton. I am still awaiting to his repsonse so we can meet or talk about training

I think it would be kool to all meet. At least I know this is for real. I was not too sure at first when I got the e-mail if this was serious or not, now seeing others received the same e-mail makes it more crediable for me.

I just hope they are serious because I am puttin off training Kyokushin to meet these guys and I found a pretty serious place here in brooklyn. the guy is Randolph James Shihan and he has a serious fighting gym that concentrates alot ofn fighting. So lets hope this Daido-Juku rep is serious about training

I think they need to meet with people who have and run their own schools, not just some guys who are interested in Kudo. Also Zenshin, where is the school in Brooklyn, also does he (the sensei from the Brooklyn KK gym) know of anybody who competes in Knockdown Tournaments from LI, preferably Eastern LI.

I had a few e-mail exchanges with them, they said thy want to meet with people that want to train in it, not as a business propersition for school owners, but people that are serious about Daido Juku. At least least that is what was said to me.

I honestly don't know, all I know about him is that he fought in he world tournament in Japan. The shool is in downtown brooklyn.

Anyone wanting to meet with the Green belt rep from Daido Juku is invited to contact him over e-mail, I was supposed to meet with him tomorrow at starbucks to discuss training but forgot there is NYC Marathon on tomorrow an cancelled due to the traffic as I dont take trains and ussually drive to the city

whoever is interested in th rep from daio juku should contact him over e-mail and he seems to be really motivated to meet new students and fan's of daido Juku. let me now how it goes.

I am sorry I keep posting stuff in the wrong forum. This is the last time I swear. By the way, no updates. What is the greenbelt's email you have been communicating Zenshin? Also have you ever had a chance to train with them?

rsobrien, Kudo Greenbelt just registered and is the green belt i am talking about. I did not get a chance to train with him, but have spoke to him and plan on meeting real soon to discuss and train in DJ, on the 22nd. of Nov 2 rep from japan will be at the New Yorker hotel in NYC to discuss with anyone that wants to train in DJ, everyone is welcome to attend the meeting, if you want more info contact Kudo greenbelt on this forum or his personal e-mail address.

I don't know if I will be able to make it the 21st. I just thought the 22nd was nuts because that is probably one of the worst times to travel, the day before Thanksgiving.

So definetly the 21st? At the New Yorker? At 5:PM? Azuma? I'll be dragging my brother along (Judo, BJJ, MMA), my girlfriend, and maybe a few others. Any idea on the number of people?

Anyone convince their Sensei or fellow students to check it out?

Is this Daido-Juku Going to be an IKO#1 Branch etc, or as of now is there no information regarding a certain branch?.

IKO1 is a kyokushin organization. Daido juku has its own established international organization called "Kudo International Federation, Daidojuku, Kakuto Karate" abbreviated to "KIF".
(Funny thing btw, I tought they had gotten rid of the word "karate" from their name, but its still there in the organization name)
