Thats great news! I have to take a couple more weeks off to heal my leg, and it turns out I broke my hand too! So I'll do what I can while I'm on the mend, and then get myself ready for the preliminary regionals in Sept. OSU! |

OSU! Thankyou!
I was really happy with second. I tore my calf muscle in the weeks leading up to this tournament, so I had practically no preparation training at all. Yeah injured again!! ![]() I got decisive wins in my first 2 fights, scoring points with knock downs. But my calf was hurting so bad I had to pull out of the finals. Now if I can just get rehabilitated and avoid any further injuries before the Hokutoki.... |

Dear Kudoist,
If your calf was in perfect shape, how do you think you would be doing in final? And how many points do you still need to enter the world tournament? OSU!

To be honest I'm confident that I would beat him again. But not in the condition that I was in this time. My mental strength has really improved this year. I was very relaxed and confident in this tournament. I've learned to control my emotions a lot more and keep a clear head. It makes a huge difference. I cant wait to test my skills against some of the more experienced fighters in the Hokutoki. As for the world tournament I dont know what I have to do to get in. I can't compete for Japan as I'm not Japanese. There are no Kudo dojos in my country (New Zealand) So there is no qualifying tournament for me there. Azuma Jukucho has implied to me that I will be able to compete. But I guess I have to prove myself in the Hokutoki here first. I really need to beat some of the veteran Japanese fighters too prove I've got what it takes to compete at the international level. I will ask Jukucho about it after the next Hokutoki. |

I hope you can well nuture your injuries before November. Please keep us updated about your progress (I will keep reporting your success if you do not mind. You are humble and you always keep your own victories low-key, like the Kanto weight qualifying earlier this year). I have found a picture of a gaijin in his blue gi with a trophy taken last Sunday, should I post it? OSU!

You do an amazing job in keeping people informed .You seem to know more about whats going on over here than I do! ![]() As for the picture I dont really care about whether you post it or not. I'm not really interested in tooting my own horn. I haven't really achieved much yet anyway. I just try to share a little of what my competition experiences are like, because I think it might be of interest to other upcomming fighters. I always like to hear personal accounts of fights from other fighters. Competition can be such a learning experience. Osu! |
