Three Kyokushin fighters in CAGE FORCE

Ikeda Yoshinori and two other fighters from Kyokushin Kaikan will participate in "CAGE FORCE-EX eastern bound" (5/27 in Differ Ariake).

Ikeda lost by hantei in the first CAGE FORCE in November last year and this is his second attempt in the event. The fights for all three Kyokushin fighters will all be in 5minx2R one-match format.

Mikoshiba Naoji (Kyokushin Kaikan)
Keitaro (Free)

Mikoshiba is a shidouin in Yokohama East Branch. He did well in the last WT and only lost to Shihan Kiyama Hitoshi (the champion).

Kaka san, Osu. Senpai Mikoshiba's first name is read "Naoji", and he has won an All Japan Light Heavy weight title once before the world tournament.

I know this because he was my instructor when I started kyokushin in Japan. Osu.

Kyokushin Karate Sanninshu (Trio)!

The press conference for “CAGE FORCE-ex eastern bound” was held on 4/28 in “GCM Communication” at Ginza, Tokyo in the middle of a thunderstorm.

After the last world tournament, Seto has been training with great instructors like Sensei Nakai Yuki (Brasilian Jujitsu) and Sensei Gokita Masaru (Kiguchi Workout Studio).

When Sensei Mikoshiba started Kyokushin at the age of 14, he intended to use Karate as a stepping-stone to prepare for entering UWF. The "golden cage" (octagon) initially intimidated Sensei Mikoshiba and he could not imagine himself entering a "cage fight". The brave attempt at such events by Sensei Ikeda has become great inspiration for him.

Last year in October, Mikoshiba, as a blue belt in Brasilian Jujitsu, entered “The 1st Brasilian Jujitsu Asia Tournament” in Tokyo Budokan and won.

I am surprised for your comment. I think their haircuts are quite "gentle".
There are some "real weird" haircuts in Japan.

Two wins and one loss for Kyokushin!
ISE took down Ikeda but Ikeda committed a foul by kicking ISE in the face while being mounted himself (he got two fouls altogether). ISE needed a long doctor check for the injuries in his eyes. At the end Ikeda lost by TKO (spinning back blow).


Seto won by 3-0


Mikoshiba vs Keitaro
1R
Orthodox Keitaro vs Southpaw Mikoshiba. Mikoshiba kept moving counter-clockwise and Keitaro throwing right straight. Keitaro was the more aggressive one.

2R
Mikoshiba stopped the advancing Keitaro by left middle, inner low kick and left hook. His hiza geri nailed deep into the body of Keitaro, followed by his devastating punches and Mikoshiba simply smothered Keitaro. At the end Mikoshiba mae geri Keitaro in the face and sending him into the air.

This was an awesome event, I was lucky enough to be ringside!!
All of the Kyokushin fighters were very strong and I thought they looked very comfortable in that style of fighting.

I just noticed this post NZ! Mikoshiba is a close friend of the Shihans, and was the whole reason we went to the event!
He fought an amazing fight, iron jaw, and so calm, if I remember correctly that was his first outing in the cage format. Bloody impressive.

Lanky Sempai, please give regards to senpai Mikoshiba if you ever meet him and talk. If you mention about a japanese guy training in New Zealand senpai Mikoshiba should still remember me.

Tnks for posting this!! Congratulations to all of them for stepping into the cage. That shows a lot of guts and spirit. Sad to know that Ikeda lost but i hope improves and wins next time. By the way is there any video of this event online?
