Hi there,
Well I was really training hard for this hokutoki.I was doing alot of work on my jujitsu skills here in Japan. Then I went to Thailand for 2 weeks of intensive Muay Thai training. My fitness was good and my skills really improving. I found out that if I won my first fight then I would probably face Kononenko in my second fight. I know he's probably one of the toughest opponents in my weight class, but I was looking forward to the challenge of facing such a skilled veteran fighter. Then on Monday night, during the last 30 seconds of the last round of grappling sparring, I broke my finger. I grabbed my opponents gi by the lapel, and he pulled back as I pulled forward. My finger, which was caught under the lapel, just snapped, and was bent 90 degrees backward. It didnt hurt at all, and I quickly straightened it, and applied icing. The next day I went to the doctor and got it x-rayed. You could clearly see the bone snapped in two and out of alignment. So the doctor reset it and bandaged me up. I have to wear a metal brace on my finger for a month. NO HOKUTOKI!! ![]() |

Dear Kudoist,
Zannen da naa (probably good news for Shihan Kononenko) I wish you a speedy recovery from this injury and you will become a lot stronger at the next Hokutoki. And I also wish Sempai Sunehiro and Sempai Shida do well in this event. OSU!

Man, i feel sorry for you. Those injuries really suck but at least it wasn't anything serious. Hope you recover fast.

KICHIJOUJI DOJO WINS AGAIN!
Today my dojos fighters, Suehiro senpai and Shida senpai, both won their weight divisions of the Hokutoki. What a great day for our dojo! I wish I could've made it a triple victory, but I'll just have to wait till next year. Kononenko senpai won the light heavy weight division. Man did he look strong! His punching power was in a league above everyone else. To be honest I don't think I would've stood much of a chance in beating him. I'm going to have to train like a demon to prepare myself to face him next year! |

Hi, I am new to these forums. I have some questions. I have been interested in Daido Juku/ Kudo tournaments for some time. I am in Los Angeles California and there is no Daido Juku or Kudo here. How can I find out about tournament dates and locations? And are these tournaments open to all styles?

Ocelot9mm-san ,
Use the search button on the top of your page and search for Kudo and Daido Juku . A lot of these answers are answered in previous threads . Osu http://www.daidojuku.com/eng/
