On December 1st 2001 Yoshiki Takahashi became the first heavyweight KOP after defeating Shamoji Fujii in the finals of an 8-man tournament. Takahashi vacated the belt in 2004. In 2006 Pancrase decided that it was time to crown a new heavyweight KOP when they held an 8-man tournament whose winner would become the second heavyweight KOP. In the finals on August 27th Arbocius Tiger from Lithuania faced Poai Suganuma and won by a cut from a knee in the third round. Pancrase Rising Tour 5/30 On May 30th the heavyweight KOP title will be on the line when champion Arbocius Tiger (5-1) from Shidokan Karate takes on challenger Tatsuya Mizuno (2-1) from the U-File Camp. arbocius is an incredible fighter who can punch, kick, throw, submit equally well. his poise and ring generalship is second to none. he has also won titles in shidokan world open tournaments as a middleweight and heavyweight. he makes winning look easy. he is one of the few who can throw jump back kicks and spin hooks in fights with ease.

Shidokan Karate - Sometimes called The Triathlon of Martial Arts because of the fights often being separated into three different rule sets, usually with Round 1 being Knockdown Karate rules, Round 2 being Muay Thai rules and Round 3 being MMA rules. I have read about different rule sets in different tournaments, but is that the normal rule set or is another one the most used/normal set? |

shidokan rules can vary. we have put on shows with 2x2 min of knockdown, thai boxing, and grappling (with and without strikes on the ground depending on state athletic commission rules)for quarter finals and 3x2 min of each for finals. we have done 1x3min rounds of knockdown, thai boxing, and mma (with strikes on the ground). it has also been done as 1x2min round karate, 1x3min round thai boxing, and 1x5 mma. as long as the formula gives you the triathlon. 2x2 min of each has been used mostly in the past, but in recent times we've been experimenting with the format (up to the promoter as i have used 2x2 of each and 1x3 min of each in my state of Georgia,USA).

Thanks for the explanation. It seems that Arbocius has injured himself during training and will not fight on May 30th. His opponent will instead face Assuerio Silva.
