daido juku headguard
OSU! Hi guys I'm new here...I am very happy to write something here.
I would like to ask you where I can find the kudo headguard since here in Italy,where I live there is no kudo dojo anymore.. I heard that there is a new helmet for kudo but I cannot find it..also I have problem in reading japanese so I really have no clue.. I also would like to ask you if is it possible to add padded flaps on the back and sides of the neck in order to allow very controlled shuto striking..in other words something like the ProForce® Thunder Padded Combat Head Guard w/ Face Cage that you can buy on the AWMA site (I am not allowed to post the link) Thank you very much OSU!

No! I really respect what Azuma has done with kyokushin.
But I think we all teach our own Kudo and I think we are all Kudoista! A TKD Master who teaches here in the CO stated that Kyokushin is one of the original MMA. This Master happens to be Korean by the name of Choi. He is the 1st person that i have met here who actually knew alot about Kyokushin and he really respects all of us who practices kyokushin. He says that we are the few martial artist that are true.

I stopped into the Daido Juku HQ this week in Tokyo, and unfortunetly, they don't sell the head gear right out of the HQ...
They also told me that a new helment is under development, and should be released later this year (a helmet that DJ has been involved with hand on) vapor

I wouldn't go buying the new helmet thats for sale at the moment. From what I've heard there are a few problems with it.
Like the chin guard is easily used to choke you out! So perhaps thats why there is another one being designed.

Basically it is announcing the change in rules of what head gear can be worn.
For the 2007 All Open Tourney preliminaries, the current head gear "Super Safe" can be worn. For the 2007 All Open Tournament finals, and moving to all tournaments in 2008 including the All Japan Tourney, the new headgear "Neo Head Gear Open" known as NHG Open, will have to be worn. To dojo's, leaders and other officials who have placed orders, shipments of the NHG Open head gear will start soon. Ordering of the helment by the general public will be announced on this page, and from time of payment, shipping will occur within 2 weeks. Junior Size (S) will be 10,000 yen (9,000 yen for DJ students) Senior Size (L) will be 15,000 yen (14,000 yen for DJ students) (names of the actual tournaments may be different....I am just using a standard phrase as I do not have intimate knowledge on the exact naming of DJ tourneys) vapor

In 1981, it was like driving in the rough sea that I introduced head gear in Daido Juku and made head-hitting possible. Similarly, Daido Juku now is facing a big reform, Kudo has entered a new era. Some new developments about NGH
There are some new changes to the rules about using NGH and here is the most updated version: 2007 Openweight preliminaries - can use supersafe together 2007 All-Japan after Openweight - NGH must be worn 2008 Preliminaries and Shinsakai - can use supersafe together 2009 Preliminaries, tournaments, Shinsakai and everything else - must wear NGH By the way the devlopment cost of the headgear should be 10 million yen (I swear that I saw one more zero last time!!!) OSU!
