Ive seen this video before (take a look at some of the others on that youtube page from the same event). When we train we do an exercise where we allow ourselves to be hit in the solar plexus so we can identify what it feels like and how to cope with it. No risk of permanent damage because we recognise that there is a line that you dont cross. This crosses the line so much.
Whats next? I accept the premise that we may be in a postition where we are getting choked so maybe this will help with that. I may get stabbed or my arm broken - where is the line for this type of training. Perhaps we can get a little too close to this. We want to see how far we can push ourselves and hey!! we are hard we are kyokushin we can take it. It doesnt make it right though. But no medical supervision is wrong!!! And why was there no medical supervision? Im willing to stake vital parts of my anatomy that its because no self respecting medico would get involoved with this. In case you havent guessed Id be holding the door open for Ksan so we can both leave (and Probably get a beer because someday I may get attacked when Im drunk and I want to be prepared - my excuse and im sticking to it!)
