Silva was the favourite here. People were exepcting more agression from his side but Lidell did his thing keeping Silva at bay and working on his counterattacks. Silva was outboxed here. I guess he still has to improve a lot his striking skills. He also looked a bit dry if you know what i mean. Does it have to do with the weigh limit or somehting else?

GSp had lost before by armlock and this time he got his revenge in the same fashion lol. Nice win. Clear control there.

Having been more a Pride fan than UFC, it's sad to see all these former ex-Pride champions get rocked by their UFC equivalents (Crocop, now Silva). Only Rampage has lived up the hype. I look forward to if and when Fedor comes over to the UFC.

I doubt that Fedor will ever join the UFC. He was even insulted by Dana White. Besides Fedor and his team are making an effort to expand their own MMA organisation M-1.

And yeah i also feel sad to see Mirko and Shogun not doing so well although in some cases i think it also has to do with steroids control. Remember that in most MMA events in Japan there is no such thing. There are other reasons of course: different rules (no stomps but elbows allowed) different space (cage and not a ring) and a long period without fighting which turned some of them a bit rusty. Of course this is no excuse for their losses because Mirko's opponents were also strong (Gonzaga is a pomise in the UFC and Kongo is also a very good striker, just look at this fight vs Feitosa at the Ishigeki event in Paris 2005).

Silva had a bad fight plan, he should have used clinching and knees.
Crocop will fight back his way to the top and Fedor will never join UFC, there was a really good interview with him on Sherdog where he talks about why he choosed M1.

I guess that goes both ways. And Lidell was clearly superior.
