4/29 Andrews Nakahara vs Sakuraba Kazushi
I cannot believe my eyes, but today is not the 4/1 yet.
They are going to fight on 4/29 in K-1 Dreams. I wonder how many seconds can Nakahara Sensei survive in the ring. OSU!

Dear Miguel,
Yes I am worrying about his safety. It is a direct jump from no face punches to face punches plus groundwork (and he is fighting against Sakuraba). OSU!

Ah, I understand completely. But c'mon, Nakahara sensei is, after all, a professional. Surely he's thought this trough and he thinks he has what it takes. If he is jumping into this blindly and he gets defeated in a very ugly way, then, with all due respect, the beating was a well deserved one.

Sakuraba is definitely the favorite in this fight, without a question. That's a big leap to make, and not the wisest one. No disrespect meant, just being honest.

I was expecting to see him in the K-1 GP. Moving from standard Kyokushin rules to MMA is a big jump for sure. I hope he's been training MMA for a while now otherwise he won't stand much chances. We'll see. I'm glad in a way though for knowing more and more often Kyokushin fighters are challenging themselves in this type of competitions.
Osu!!

Well if anything Sakuraba is definitely an aged MMA fighter way beyond his golden years. With Sensei Nakahara still young, fit, and in his prime perhaps he will score a KO and walk out of the ring with all his joints and ligaments intact.

Sakuraba is a Brazillian Killer.....no doubt about that. I have never met Sensei Nakahara in person, but as far as I know....Shihan Filho has been doing some MMA trainning with Brazilian Top Team (MMA team - Minotauro, Minotouro, Paulão, Murilo Bustamante ...among others)....Probaly Sensei Nakahara was doing the same.....
Shihan Isobe and Shihan Filho would never alow him to fight if he were not completely prepared for the fight....You know what? I'll put my money in Nakahara's victory. I think that Sakuraba's name was a very well prepared choice because he has deffeated many of the top Brazillians (BJJ/MT) fighters. If a top kyokushin fighter defeat him....it would be a huge thing in MMA's world and it will put kyokushin in a new level of respect.... What do you guys think? |

Sorry Sublimo....Chute Boxe lost most of their world class fighter....Wanderlei Silva is in US trainning with Randy Couture....Shogun left the team, Murilo Ninja didi the same....Anderson Silva....left the team and he is trainning with Minota.....and Besides that.....
Besides that....Chute Boxe team is great at Muay Thay.....their ground work is just OK. Brazilian Top Team on the other hand has the best ground work in the world....therefore thei have a lot to teach to Nakahara. Anyway Shihan Francisco Filho has some good contacts with Chute Boxe people too.....a lot of respect among then.... OSSU! |

You're right about Chute Boxe, though. Anderson left Chute boxe a long time ago. I know you have a background in bjj like me, do you really think someone with not that much grappling experience can compete for their first fight with Sakuraba? I don't..he's going to have to fight like Chuck Lidell and avoid going to the ground with a good sprawl. The thing about it, Sakuraba has submitted a Gracie with a kimura standing up!
