I'm not a nutritionist or anything, but any sandwiches works for me. I like mine done on wheat bread with some miracle whip, all white chicken breast, lettuce, tomatoes, and red onions. For a drink, I usually have a 8 ounces of water. I like to eat all this 2hours and 30 minutes before practice or training. Then on the way to the dojo or gym, I usually eat a banana.

I have 1 cup of whole wheat pasta with butter about 1 1/2 hours before training and it gives me lots of energy for training. For early morning sessions I have oatmeal and fruit about 1 1/2 hours before training.

it is better to avoid eating 2 hours before the training because of the intensty of the work, the punches to the stomach can cause vomitting and discomfort

I try to eat 1.5-2 hours before I go to the Dojo.

My morning workout I just guzzle water and go at it. Then I eat after I shower from the workout.

On Dojo nights I train right after work and I eat a Banana about an hour before class starts. Then I have dinner after I get home.

Osu!

Interesting thread, usually I have Breakfast then a large morning tea (large salad roll + muffin) at 10am, lunch is usually an apple and some yoghurt which I have at around 1-2pm thats the last food I have prior to training, however recently I have started taking protein, L-Glutamine, creatine sports powder with milk 1/2 hour before training, I find it does give me a bit more energy in the harder sessions.

Your daily food intake pre-protein plus is scary, Antsan! I think I'd faint by lunch. Or maybe just want to.

I don't see your breakfast items listed, but depending on your size, it seems that your protein and complex carb intake is fairly low. Particularly for someone with an active lifestyle.

Breakfast is a couple of pieces of toast (wholemeal) + coffee, so not much either!

Man! I really don't think you've got enough in the tank for full-on training. That might be enough to feed a runway model, but between the muscle breakdown, the need for energy, and the repair of damage, I don't think it's enough fuel.

Any nutritionists in the house?

I have to agree that Antsan needs to eat some more and balance it out. Took me awhile to put it together for myself but I did! Now I am losing lots of FAT and gaining muscle like crazy.

I usually just have a banana and a glass every hour before for about 5 hours so the water works wuicker and more effectively. afterwards, either pasta or meat n veg.

I would eat a high protein cereal or eggs for breakfast(Kashi Cereal is great)

Have a snack inbetween of Trailmix or Fruit or Jerky(I get low sodium Turkey Jerkey)

Then Lunch. Again I try to have some protein, veggies and light carbs

Afternoon Snack (Usually I have a banana)

Dinner

If you still feel the hunger then a light snack at least 1 hour before bedtime.

I have turned into a label reading freak on my food. You would be surprised how much stuff that is good for you has some bad ingredients(High Fructose Corn Syrup!)

Try to cut out sugars that you dont need and just eat more proteins and vegetables. Watch the starches and carbs and by eating 5-6 times a day in smaller portions then 3 big meals your metabolism will boost as well.

Good call, MilkManX. That Kashi is surprisingly good. I recommend it as a good alternative breakfast.
