There aren't too many Belgian restaurants in my town so I was quite pleased to have found one close to my apartment. Monday nights are 1/2 price Belgian beer nights, which also includes live jazz. The beer menu is quite extensive. You could easily spend every Monday of the year sampling a different beer. Last night we had Kasteel Donker, a dark beer. It tasted of chocolate and cherries-in a good way. I could easily call it one of my favorites, but there are so many Mondays to go.

Trader Joe's Dark Mexican Ale. It was delicious!!

Bah. There's no one to have a beer with in this area. Seems like everyone has taken off for the last week of summer, and even the traffic is livable. Not a bad trade when I think about how much I drive, vs how much I drink. Osu!

I'm kind of a beer snob and like some imports and domestics(microbrews). When I lived in WA I became very familiar with a local brewery called Dicks that makes a very affordable grand cru at 10% and has a very hearty taste to it. One of my favorite beers, however, is this: Dogfish Head - 120 Minute IPA
It's a tad pricey, about $8-9 USD, a bottle..and I won't divulge where to buy it because it is in short supply but you can bet when I'm in WA state next weekend I will buy a few bottles. I also enjoy Chimay triple`, a good dopplebok, heineken dark, and occasionally a good oatmeal stout for the taste. The older I get I can tell I'm definitely more of a beer drinker than I am one for the liquor. Unfortunately, I notice that my belly can grow suprisingly fast when I partake in these delicious fruit of the gods! In my opinion, a good beer tastes best after a good training session.
