Foods
This is an extention post from Milk post.........
Dim, Processed sugar is poison, no matter what you read and no matter what science tells you. The great thing about a free economy is that lobbing and the ones in power let things like this go on. In the USA 10,000 chemicals do not have to be placed in the ingredients label of foods. The word natural on foods means that they are synthetically produced to represent the natural flavors of that item!!!! Eating home grown foods does not mean healthy or safe either. It just means homegrown, what pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers used to grow those foods are the issue !!!!!!! Sugar (processed) eats glucose sugar in your body that is how it works in layman’s terms. Do yourself and your body (both inside and out) and look into Organic or raw organic diet. Read the books on this type of life style and give it a chance. Remember that $$$$$$$$$ rules the truth of facts that make it to the public and what is best for profit is best for you in the eyes of the corporations. PS the number one killer of man is medical doctors, this is per The New England Medical Journal. One of the most respected (respected that is for doctors) in the world. YES!!!!!!!!! Along with other stuff that does nothing for your body, well nothing good for your body. All energy drinks do (unless they are organic) Foods/drinks that say they are all natural are not not even close, they are synthetic Look the only foods that are good for your body is Organically grown or wild grown, this type of food is grown without the chemicals added during growth as well added in the process Last edited by vapor; 04-19-2007 at 02:44 PM. Not that I'm disagreeing, but the problem with "organic" foods, at least in North America is that, water tables being what they are, even those foods can't be guaranteed to be chemical free.
Add to that he fact that the term "Organic" has, at present, no clearly defined legal meaning, which makes it a marketer's wet-dream. And when you get right down to it, top soil is "organic", but you won't catch me sitting down to a bowl of it anytime soon. I think the way to go is to stick with foods that are as unrefined/unprocessed as you can find. Obviously, this will be easy with vegetables, more of a chore with meat and grain products. And almost impossible with Dairy. But it can be done.

There are a couple of things i still dont understand about your arguments. Firstly you are telling me not to trust anything i read (in books or where-ever) or what scientists (this i am taking as an attack on all scientists and the scientific method, not just Pharmaceutical companies which are probably the devil incarnate). And then in the next paragraph telling me to read what scientists have said in books. Analytical chemistry can clearly show what is present in a particular substance. Take white sugar for example (which is 99% sucrose, the other 1% is most likely impurities left over from the cane from which it is refined). Sucrose as a chemical is a bonding together of glucose and fructose, both of which are organic (seeing as i'm not allowed to use the word natural anymore as apparently it means something different ). The only way that this can be seen to be a POISON is if you eat too much of it, overloading your body with sugar. This is not just the case with sugar, if anything is taken to excess it is a poison to the body. Example:water and oxygen, so does this mean we should stop drinking water and breathing oxygen? What i was wanting from you was an expansion on your 'laymans terms', not a simple re-statement. Please tell me what the chemical process is by which 'sugar eats sugar'. Eating organic foods (whatever organic means) is most likely better for you, and if you had said just this i wouldnt have had any problem. However i have a problem with your use of pseudo-science to back it up with. If you are going to make a claim at least back it up with something solid. OK American companies are putting 'bad chemicals' in food...what are these chemicals? |

Surely unnatural sugar is not what we should be taking in daily life but if it is really POSION then companies shouldn't be selling the products. There are far more worse foods that exist like fast food places.

Satanclaws - thats very funny. Dim makes a good point though - anything can be poisonous - its the dose that counts.
And the World Health Organisation says the number one cause of death in the World is Cardiovascular Disease.

Satanclaws - you're point is made, but realize that pure oygen is poisonous, as is pure carbon dioxide
lengthy exposure to either would cause your respiratory system to shut down

sugar is bad for you.
but its a complicated matter. evolutionary speaking humans didnt have a ready supply of candy bars, mcdonalds and foods packed with sugar. we had to hunt for our foods which were mainly meat and fruit and veg. basically everything that health experts tell you to eat (like the bottom of the food pyramid) was what we DID eat thousands of years ago. but now today with our lazy lifestyle and easy access to junk food we no longer have to hunt for our food, its right there, as much of it as we want. and we want alot. im against anything thats packed with sugar, BUT sugar IS found in all the foods we SHOULD be eating (milk, fruits, etc) but just in the amounts that are healthy for us, plus with the added benefits of vitamins and minerals that we need as also in these great foods. i stay away from the bad foods that huge companies make in factories and eat a healthy balanced diet of wholemeal foods, veg, lean meats and low fat dairy products. |
