I'll just have to believe you that it is delicious. I haven't seen it offered here in Canada, but then I haven't made it a point to look for it. Next time that I go shopping I'll see if it exists. I have to be honest and say that the process of creating it doesn't appeal to me.

There were rumours that the US was going to ban vegemite, turns out it wasn't true.

Brad - I must be positively un-Australian, because I truly can't taste the difference between Marmite and Vegemite...but I can taste teh difference with Promite. Promite is a bit sweeter, and more aromatic than Vegemite, and I actually prefer it. I guess that proves that I'm un-Australian...doesn't it![]()

Well ... they look the same and smell the same to me ... I never dared taste vegiemite as marmite was so yacky!!! (pardon the technical term used). Never heard of promite... you sure you're not talking dustmite types here?

Hmm ... Brad - I can't promise anything, but if I happen to stumble across a jar of vegiemite I'll do my best (read hold my nose) and give it a try!

OK - here is the secret recipe...
the mistake that most foreigners make with Vegemite is to spread it thick....UGH! That takes a lot of practice! Now - get some lovely, thick, hot toast. Spread it with a butter or margarine (as you prefer), and then SMEAR the vegemite on, very thin. YUM!. This is the only way to sample your first vegemite. ![]()

Well, in trinidad we call it zaboca (pronounced : zaa-bo-kaa) and it's pretty much a delicacy in my country. We got some real zaboca freaks here. But people say it's fattening i think they speak a lot of bulls^!t. Science has proved that it has ESSENTIAL fats for the human body not the bad kind of fat that most people think it has..... and, it also benefits the heart, eyes and skin. I think it's a wonderful food...anything good for the heart has got to be good for training OSU!!!!!!

you never ate " bread and zaboca ", well my friend you missing out on life i tell you. When zaboca is in season in my country which is usually around July -September, "Bread and Zaboca" is practically a staple. And if you add salt to it (not too much) you WILL fall in love with it.....TRUST ME !!!!!!!....It's goood for the heart, if it's good for the heart it's good for training...OSU !!!
