Fit for Life - diet book
I've been reading this book called Fit for Life Not Fat for Life, by Harvey Diamond. I have tried out some of his techniques and find it easy to follow. My energy is up and weight is down. His strategy is pretty simple. These are the highlights off the top of my head:

1. Nothing but fruit till noon
2. Eat more living food (uncooked veggies/fruits) then dead food everyday
3. Don't combine meats with grains, have them in separate meals (i.e. lunch & dinner)

I'm sure there's more but I quickly skimmed the book.

Yay! Another person who eats this way!!! Big hugs!

I have been following this kind of eating for over 2 years now, and although it is a shock at first, it truly helped me physically. Not only is my energy up, weight is down, but also my skin condition has been consistently healing on it's own.

Have you found that your stamina has improved also? It's almost like my circulation system is cleaning out, and I can do so much more then ever.

My skin and digestion have also improved. I've been doing this for about 2 months only but the energy level is the biggest change for me. I hope with this diet and my renewed interest in running that I will be more fit and last longer in my kumite rounds.

I found that my sweat stopped smelling bad. It's a wierd positive aspect to eating this way, but I like that side effect.

Did you feel any detoxification symptoms when you first started eating this new way? like headaches, stomach aches, diarrhea, etc. I was able to switch without suffering too much, but I've heard that some people feel awful at first as their body attempts to get rid of accumulated waste products.

I also found it hard to separate my proteins, and starches at first. I had to learn how to adjust my eating habits, and meals. Going to a restaurant is near insane now, I just ask for vegetarian meals, or if they do not have that available, I will order a salad without dressing.
