Ice cream question
I have been told that ice cream is good after a long period of hard training, something about the combination of carbs and amino acids that has a good effect for enduring hard and long workouts.
anny toughts on this ??

I like the concept!!! Haven't heard anything about the health benefits of it...but I would be a little concerned about the empty calorie factor...

Ice cream is good for anyone and for any occassion!
If you get popped with a punch in the eye you can use the ice cream to reduce the swelling. Oh the marvelous uses of Ice Cream.

When you spar with a kid and accidentally make him/her cry give them an ice cream!
Having ice cream too often will make you not slim.. that is probably why many athletics avoid it before competitions. There are always cholesterol free soy ice creams.

Use a Protein/Carbohydrate mix Postworkout (as soon as possible), about 20-40g Protein and 40-80g Carbohydrate. It's best to consume it as a drink because it's easier to digest. It's also good to add some Vitamin C and E because you need Antioxidants after training.
2-4 hours later, eat a meal containing protein and some carbs. There are a few recovery drinks out there who fit in there. Biotest Surge is one I know (but it's an expensive one, you may want to mix it by yourself) If you are interested in the subject, the book "Nutrient Timing" might be interesting for you. Osu |

They have a store and it's supposedly 20 percent off and free shipping. I have never bought from there but you might as well give it a look. |

very true if you want to be on the natural side you can also have low fat chocolat milk... how cool is that it has the carbs andf the protein does not contain much more sugar or calories then regular milk (got get the real thing not the one that are made by candies companies) and did i mention it taste great. same for the ice cream lots of carbs got protein but also a lot of sugar and fat so i would be careful with it

I love icecream but to my knowledge it's not good for you - not necessarily bad in moderation, but it doesn't contribute much. It contains a lot of sugar (or even worse sweeteners) and the milk in it has been treated (mostly boiled) and then frozen - almost all its nutritional qualities have been lost. Also the flavourings, if natural, not much nutritional value, if artificial, even worse!
But I do have it every day and nothing tastes better than icecream (except chocolate icecream! )
