Important: Global Warming Concern

Global Warming has been a huge concern in the last decades. I'm making this thread to make more people aware how serious this global warming can do to us in the next 50 years or less.

After watching the recent movie documentary "Inconvient Truth", I was stunned by the fact that people will be suffering from the food/land shortage in roughly 40-50 years time. Many countries will be below the ocean..

ICE is an important key factor to keep the earth cool and in good temperature. If the ICE melts there will be less ICE to keep the heat away, which results in rising the temperature. At the same time water level rises and there will be less lands for people to live, which means less land for food...

Pure water comes from the beautiful ice mountains, which won't last forever.. what happens then?

Possible Symptoms:
- raise in the level of CO2(Carbon Dioxide)
- higher the temperature
- bigger hurricanes(raise in sea temperature causes this) etc..

We have to be aware of this and maybe pass this on to friends you know. We need to start taking actions NOW! Every single person can help.

We want to see our kids/grand children grow and have good life.

Funny I was thinking about this today watching a school yard of kids with compulsory sun hats & shade sails over the playground! At that age we wore coconut oil to attract the sun! What the hell have we done in the last 20 years & how bad will it be in another 20! My resolution for 2007 is to swap my car for a hybrid!

It's a good thing to bring a hot issue like this to peoples attention.
We should convince our governments to invest in green energy and not
in more nuclear plants like they are planning for the moment .
It's like in the Indians saying ,
When the last fish has died
the last tree is cut and the last river is poisoned
man will finally understand that you can't eat money.

It is great that you are drawing everyones attention to this issue. Sosai used to say that he hoped for World Peace through Kyokushin - by bringing togther people of all creeds and race with a common purpose. Sadly the political reality, both internally within the various Kyokushin groups, and externally with the governments of the world means that that has not happened.

But here within this forum we have a group of people from all Kyokushin organisations and splinters who come here and say "we dont care about politics" and discuss matters related to the very heart and soul of Kyokushin. We have over 500 members and if we can get this message across to each of them then maybe they can spread that message.

I read this somewhere once or perhaps heard it - Never doubt that a small
group of thoughtful and commited citizens can change the world. You know why?

It's the only thing that ever has.

Maybe we can be that group of thoughtful and commited people?

Yes. We don't want to see our family/kids/friends suffer from this global warming in near future.. We always heard this issue but I never thought it was this serious. If this really starts happning, fight for a land war may begin.. We don't want to see World War 3 or seeing people suffer even more.

We also want kyokushin to strive.

Funny! In NZ we are nuclear free... it's got us into a lot of shmuk with America because we don't even let them bring their nuclear powered ships into our waters. We rely mostly on hydro for our power but it's not enough. I met a scientist who was contracted by NZ to research the feasability of wind power & he told me we'd need wind turbines on every sqare inch of the country if we wanted sufficient power to run our three main centres! What's left? Fossil fuels! From what I understand the only truly environmentally friendly source of power is nuclear power!

Senpai, did you watch the recent docu on harzards causing births of deformed babies and getting fatal diseases in New Plymth(I think this was the place), New Zealand? They showed some nasty graphical photos as well.. almost lookedl ike aliens.. very horrible! Even though the issue is being looked at I will never want to live there!

Aunty senpai, Dioxin Contamination. I think something h25? or some numbers, the chemical was used in the Vietnam war to kill people/forest/everything.

I dont even think our governments have an idea on what to do about Global Warming. We are facing total ennilation from a force that comes from everywhere around us. If our governments worked more on GW (global warming)

rather than Nuclear fallout... But then again i guess PEACE is something to hard to ask for. and we need PEACE before we can work together to have Global Cooling. The bigger natural threat of our entire world is what all of us are facing and it is in our faces, underneath us, above us, all around us.
Governments should have taken lessons from Sosai. not even about the fighting but his philosophy on world peace.

some time ago we set up a 50% monthly discount to anyone who owns an alternative fuel car, solar panels at their home or business, and the like as well if a student or child of a parent who owns a company that goes above and beyond to fight global warming recycle, you name it. They to will qualify for the, what I call “Global Green” (trade marked) discount.
Their is much more to this program to fully understand it.

Sad though more people are not aware and are not trying to get things changed.

The other really bad thing about this DVD is that Al Gore is on it. He is not very honorable person and those watching this DVD may (sadly) take it in the incorrect manner, that it needs to be seen !!!

Gore is a poor spokesman for this or in my eyes any cause. But I guess the fact that this film is geeting some attention is better than none just wish it received 100% more attention we need everyone in every part of the world working to control and fix the problems that we and the next several generations will have to.
